Here's to the mosaic! Give me my 100 points  It doesn't look like a cover. It's not really a professional shoot, not that amazing, but nice. The theme is great, but as a cover, I'd like something like this, but with something more. Like something that really takes my breath away. It rather looks like a paused scene from the music video. But if it's from the mv, why mosaic it? My conclusion: promo pic! |

It’s not from mv cause the dress is sleeveless but in BTS photos the dress had long sleeve.
It’s either single cover or a picture from album photo shoot just to promote, but I think second one makes more sense.

I think it's a promo pic. just to tease us but it doesn't matter for me if it's a cover of the single. If this one amazed us, how much more the whole photoshoot?! It will blow us away for sure. The fact that she's passionate on this record makes me more excited.

You can like like the photo or not, but say that the fan made looks better or it’s just unprofessional makes me laugh so hard.
You should check how photography flows today and the styles that are on websites like Tumblr, Flickr or 500px.
This photo is professional, the light is amazing, the composition is great and the colors are vibrant.
But ok, you can try to do something better with a model/friend or whatever and show to us.

Honestly, this is way OVER my expectations. I love it. It's "simple", yet powerful and I love the baroque-like composition, and, specially, the way colours are handed

I personally think it's too early for her to reveal the album cover before the first single. As others said, if the song is called Head Above Water it would seem kind of strange to have a photo of her underwater, though I guess it could still work. As far as promo pics go, well Ariana uploaded tons with sweetener, they were pics of her in the studio and stuff. Also lots of stills from the music videos. So Avril could be doing the same.
Also, yeah we saw the dress she wore in the video had long sleeves but it doesn't mean she only wore that one dress in the video. She could have worn others.
