I'm not sure why this is being brought back up. The entire release of GL was a catastrophe. The fact Epic had no idea about the song at all proves that. It never existed. Then they tried to say fans lied about it and wouldn't refund people. It's done and over with.

Yes they did provide refunds but my point was that they never provided an explanation to us as to why the track was listed there in the first place or if the song itself even existed. Of course they should give refunds if fans aren't satisfied with the product, that is basic customer service. Fans wouldn't have needed refunds if they hadn't falsely advertised the product to begin with. When fans specifically asked the website selling it what was the deal with Hello, they just got vague responses about what the track list was supposed to be, etc. We never given a real explanation as to why there was this mixup.

Avril probably has a hundred partial tracks and unreleased songs in her "vault." The fact that a song ended up in the twilight zone and somehow turtled out just enough to be picked up on fan's radar is not improbable. Sloppy and unprofessional yes. One hand didn't know what the other was doing. It was an error, not an intentional act of malice to inflame squealing fans. And as Bob proves, they seemed to handle it the best they could.

Is the song "Hello" existing on those sites where Avril's songs are listed and registered? Her unreleased songs too? I can't remember the names of the sites. If the song is there, it IS an existing song!

I never said they did it intentionally.... My point is that regardless of how or why this error occurred when fans asked them why the track wasn't on the CD or if such a song existed, they really didn't provide us with a decent answer.

But it says in the emails that it was intended as a bonus for Japan-Release only but for whatever reason they decided to remove it. It's when they lie and say the track never existed where it gets weird.

I still think it was a big blunder. The song may be written and/or recorded but not registered. It could still be personal, not commercial, so it's "existence" could have a quantum interpretation. As far as a "decent" answer that makes everyone happy.....1) Good luck with that, and 2)Do the Really owe us that?

When you advertise a product as containing a cetain song and then the CD doesn't contain that song which is basically the reason most fans purchased it and they're asking you why this happened, they are owed some kind of explanation. But that's just basic customer service, maybe I'm just weird.

Yes they gave refunds but they never told us why the error occurred to begin with. Customers are owed refunds if they want to return the product, which can be for any reason. They don't get a hats off from me for doing what they are supposed to do. It wouldn't have been that difficult to go "Sorry guys an error was made, we don't know how that song ended up on the tracklist but we are truly sorry." It's like they never acknowledged it even happened or that it was their fault. And we only got refunds apparently because they emailed Uncle Bob and told him to communicate this info to fans. That is not a professional way to handle it.

Not arguing that point. And didn't UB say that peeps could keep it and still get a refund? Sounds pretty decent to me.
