(On the month of Woman's Day, Quarter Rock Press is doing a review of what they consider the best female rock singers)The Canadian singer and her success have taken her to the top of the pop punk scene. We celebrate Women's Day, and what better way to talk about this than music. As part of the celebration, we will remember the careers of the women who have made us feel the rock music. This time it's Avril Lavigne's turn. Born on September 27, 1984 in Ontario, Canada. Lavigne is, by far, the greatest female exponent of pop punk music.
With 15 years of musical career, a total of 222 awards, she is one of the female singers that best represents the rock of the 00's, going through success from Sk8er Boi, My Happy Ending, Girlfriend, Rock n ' Roll, What the Hell , and even a collaboration with Marilyn Manson on 'Bad Girl' a few years ago. Lavigne's career does not focus solely on music, besides that she is also an actress, philanthropist and fashion designer. It was considered by Forbes as one of the richest young celebrities in the world in 2010. Lavigne also has the Guinness World record as the youngest singer to bring a debut album to the UK charts. It is worth mentioning that the punk princess writes her songs. She was always reluctant to go on stage and sing what she had not written. By the end of this 2017 he plans to return with a brand new album. LINK: quarterrockpress.com/index.php/qrp-files/item/7551-avril-lavigne-la-mayor-exponente-del-pop-punk

This guy is clearly a fan There's isn't much of rock on her anymore (since 2007 at least), but it surely was an inspiration for females and a female exponent to pop-punk and rock during her first eras.

I think maybe what they mean is that she helped introduce rock into mainstream pop and introduce rock to kids. I know of many fans who started listening to Avril that then went on to find actual rock bands like Green Day, Nirvana, etc. Avril's first few albums were almost a way of introducing that kind of music without going too full force with it, as her songs still had the pop sensibilities that made it mainstream and listenable.

Hahahaha I was thinking the same thing!!! But hey, at least I've seen recently about Avril's legacy on that wave of early 00's pop-punk, and highlighting her as the female top figure on that scene. That's something cool, she's being honored with that.
