Everything About Avril Lavigne Conspiracy Theory Explained:
Why we should stop talk about conspiracy theories
I'm trying my best to explain everything about Avril Lavigne and the conspiracy theory here. First of all, I don't blame any of you who believed it, I blame the disease, and I hope you can think twice before spreading it ever again. It's about more than justice for Avril, but it matters to everyone who might get hurt by conspiracy theories, and I mean, everyone.
Nearly a week ago, the resurface of the Avril Lavigne conspiracy theory was not the same old joke, because this time lots of people seem to have believed it. I'm always sure it's impossible to prove this theory without fabricated evidence or ridiculous comparisons of her before and after 2003. At first I wondered how it was possible that people on Twitter are so easily fooled, but in fact it was the theory that convinced the world this time, and people who don't know enough about Avril tend to believe at least something it says. The smart thing of this thread is it begins with a touching story about her grandpa passing away in 2003. Every fan of hers know that "Tomorrow" live when she heard the news, so could many people have heard of it. No one would deny that losing a grandpa would be a great deal to everyone, so people rarely question if Avril actually tried to hurt herself. (She is a strong girl, so no, it didn't crush her. It indeed changed her a lot, therefore the second album "Under my skin" was much heavier and darker than "Let go".) Say if the thread starts with the picture of Avril with "Melissa" written on her fist, people could have asked if the picture was photoshopped (look how those words are written...), or what exactly would it mean even if it's real. Or if it goes like the original Brazilian website which began this conspiracy theory, started with lyrics of "my happy ending", people would question if those lyrics mean anything real or even related to her "death" at all.
One thing obviously wrong about the twitter thread is that it clearly claims Avril Lavigne "died" after finishing recording her second album in 2003, while she only wrapped up her "Try to shut me up" tour, so she couldn't possibly finish it before 2004. Just look at how darn slow she has been at this incoming AL6... Joking aside, the theory says her music company covered her "death" (like a criminal master that no evidence has yet to be found), and they gave "Melissa" the whole identity of Avril Lavigne, while I'm no expert at law, but this seems quite illegal and unrealistic. What's more, they then fearlessly released her second album. Would "Melissa" ever think about pretending to be a different person for the rest of her life with all the risks of being busted? I'd say no, unless she's purely a perfect clone.
So now it's 2004, Avril Lavigne finished her second album, recorded some MV, released some singles and the the whole album, and announced her second world tour the "Bonez" tour. There is one of her concert on YouTube with great quality in 2005 in Japan, and seriously, it is one of the best, if not the best, live performances ever. I'm so proud to play this concert to anyone and tell them this is the girl I love, so trust me and watch it on YouTube later if she means anything to you. This concert included every song except "how does it feel" from "Under My Skin", and it also included 5 or 6 songs from "Let Go". An hour non-stopped singing those difficult songs, only the truly talented Avril Lavigne could be so amazing, no some random girl who looks like a star can suddenly become a star and steal all that talent. A little love for Avril Lavigne is the least respect she deserves, yet the whole internet was questioning her existence... No one should go through this, never, not my Avril.
Look back how ridiculous some people are. Yes, her nose is different in many pictures, because nose is so soft that it could look bigger while breathing. Plastic surgery could be an explanation for her nose structure change, but I prefer to think the angles, shades and makeup made it look different. Her extraordinary facial structure is so beautiful and irreplaceable (ok there's some personal opinions xd) and I've never seen anyone even close to look like her through all these years. And yes, her voice clearly changed around 2003. But here's a common sense, teenagers go through a stage when their voice muscles grow and they usually sound deeper. It happens to everyone, right, or did my parents lied to me? In fact I'm sure she trained her voices to be higher and higher through years, and sometimes I could tell the year of a performance or interview by her voice, and I cannot be more positive that her voice is always hers. I don't think it's necessary for me to explain every other detail in the thread, it would just grow like cancer and never stop.
Is there evidence of Avril is still alive? Well, clearly I cannot disprove Melissa doesn't exist because she really doesn't exist ( I can ask where's her "Vendella" family, why doesn't anyone know this person like she was completely invisible before, but I just can't prove any of this with evidence). But I read about a great idea which is her ears can be a proof we could use, because ears are like fingerprints and they never change shapes. I'll post some of the the best pictures I can find later, just in case people may accuse me that this is just another theory without any facts.
I really hope I could exterminate this whole theory for good, but it's impossible because people just love to believe there's another Avril... I admit it would be super fun and crazy if it's true, but it is not. And it makes Avril unique, so why not huh?But do imagine how Avril felt after she read the whole world is talking about if she is even real. She is a strong woman so she's probably just showing "mildly amused" on the outside, but she could get hurt deep down. What's worse, lots of people even flooded her Instagram and Twitter posts with comments like "We know it's you, Melissa", regardless of whether she was noticed by any of them. I feel sorry that what they did was no respect to a person. Maybe she really doesn't care what they think of her, but I'm also worried that she's not indestructible under these terrible treatments. If you have watched Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, you know how serious I am.
Is it really funny to spread conspiracy theories about the celebrities? Alright it is a little better than having nothing else to do. But damages are beard under those people you would probably hurt. Maybe some day these things can become illegal, and hoaxers would eventually taste their consequences.
