This is such a weird song for Tool (although you could say all Tools songs are a bit weird). I read that they basically equate this song "Opiate" as a way of basically saying 'religion' to an 'opiate for the masses', then there is that crazy psychedelic hidden track at the end. I think they were being experimental and kind of still finding their sound when this EP came out, with this song on it.

Yeah it is a pretty trippy song and the gaping lotus experience is a nice little touch. It’s cool to see tool in this vulnerable stay of openness which is not only vulnerable, but comfortable. It’s cool to finally find someone who at least knows tool, I assume your a fan? If so your the first person I met that likes my two favorite artists which would be pretty epic
