If you were the deciding fate of what AL6 would sound like and Always Got What You Wanted, how would you decide the direction of Avril’s next record? No matter what direction she goes in, I believe she should be the in charge of her sound.

Not sure exactly, as long as it's not tonally all over the place like AL, or to a lesser extent GL. No random pop or pop-rock songs on an album full of ballads and chilled acoustic songs, no random 'experimental' EDM songs.

I'm down for some country, bloody love country music. Also good with pop/rock, assuming it's quality pop/rock and not GL/AL style shite. Really like her part of wings clipped, think that really suited her.

I went for I'm not sure. What I'd like for her is to finally reinvent herself and deliver something different. She gradually evolved with her sound with the first 3 albums and even GL but I feel like she never really got to leave TBDT behind. Whether it was interference of her record label, or her own interpretation of what ''people want to hear from her''. I am optimistic though because she's on a different label this time and her vision will hopefully be respected. That being said, I'm sure I'll appreciate whatever she comes up with since seeing those bits and pieces of her vision that were left on her last record, it was on it's good way to be one of, if not my favorite album of hers.

I'd love to have a pop-rock sound similar to Wings clipped and LG-songs. Something timeless and easy. I could also go with a country/pop in the style of Joanne by Lady Gaga or Malibu by Mike Cyrus as long as it's not too boring

I put Pop/Rock since I know she's done some masterpieces like FTP, Who Knows, TMTA, etc. As some of you have highlighted, I'm talking about quality pop-rock, not the mediocre blend we got on the AL album. Some songs sounding like Wings Clipped wouldn't bother me, either. In fact, I might even say I'd like more of that sound for AL6. Just keep the beatdrops and robotic voice distortions aside.

1. A cohesive record. 2. Sound like 2017. Not 2007. 3. Lyrics that shows she's 33. not 13.

A combination of everything would be nice, some songs more pop/rock, others with more folk and country influence. But everything should still sound cohesive and not all over the place.

A Pop / Rock album. Absolutely. When I think of Avril's best songs, for me, they came out from "Let Go" and "Under My Skin" in which the lyrics were really deep and meaningful. Take the lyric of "Nobody's Home" for example... I would like to revive songs of that level. It would be nice also some songs with indie or country influences too.

I chose her usual pop-rock style. Though I like it when she mixes this genre with some influences and not going full new style, country influences per examples, even if I don't listen to a lot of country songs in general, I believe that's the style that best suits her voice. I also liked these EDM influences in Wings Clipped, this song was actually what I imagined her material would sound like when we learnt she was working with Rotem.

Maybe rotem only worked with Avril for Wings Clipped and they are still beginning the production of the album. Also i like the suggested song "Thank you baby jesus" in the thread Still Waiting, page 377. If she does that song, is the new Carrie Underwood. XD
