Has anyone tried the tea tree oil from The Body Shop? Most people use it for face wash, and I heard it’s really good for oily skin because it’s like, holds the oil in your face I’ve been trying it recently but I use it as a spot treatment for pimples. I find it works best when you use it at the first sight of a spot, otherwise it doesn’t really work. But I noticed the couple of times I used it immediately it did significantly reduce the size of the pimple. I wouldn’t use something like that for all over the face, unless you’ve got acne there.

Since there are a few people here who love Clinique... do they have tinted moisturizers? I mean, the fact whether they're available in Europe is another thing, but generally? They do have tinted moisturizers, as expected they do not have that much range of colors (like most tinted moisturizers LOL), I have never tried them anyway, so I can't say if they're good or not and as you assumed, they do not seem to be available in a lot of european countries, I only saw them in a UK website :/ but here you can have a look www.clinique.co.uk/product/1599/15635/makeup/foundations/moisture-surge-tinted-moisturizer-spf-15

Is there anything by Clinique you guys would recommend for acne, oil control, or scarring/new cell turnover? Manuka honey is a very good natural product for acne/scars you leave it on like a mask for about 30 min to an hour. I use it every now and then when my skin is irritated. I like the clinique moisture surge it has some really good basic hydrating products. For scarring and cell turnover I would recommend the THE ORDINARY Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion and the Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%, they are cheap and also effective with daily use. A vitamin C serum is also very good for it.

Since we're talking about skincare, do you guys use face mask? What kind of mask do you guys use? Sheet mask, clay mask, or peel off mask? I personally prefer clay mask and peel off mask because I feel like those two work much better for my oily skin (even though sometimes using peel off mask sometimes hurts lol). Using sheet mask makes my skin more oily, so I don't use it as often as I use peel off and clay mask.
There's this local brand here called Ovale and they have this cucumber clay mask that's made for reducing the oil on your face, it costs under $1 and it works really great on my face so I think it's my favorite mask so far. I only have to wait around 15-20 minutes and it's not too hard to wash it off with water.
There's also this peel off mask that I like called Vienna (I think it's a local brand too) and my favorite peel off mask from them is the green tea one. It is supposed to "brighten your face" but I don't really see anything so far lol (it's also made for normal and oily skin, but it doesn't reduce the oil on my skin, the Ovale one works better), but maybe it's because I haven't used it long enough. But I really love that it's green tea, it 's just so relaxing!

I rarely use masks as I find them kind of annoying (have to wait for dry time, they can be messy, etc.) but when I do, I use the Shea Moisture African Black Soap mask, which is a clay mask. I try to use it once a week but I always fall behind. I don't like those disgusting sheet masks that are like all wet when you take them out of the package. I've never used a peel-off mask. In the US the charcoal peel-off mask is big right now, but I have heard it's bad for your skin (you're not meant to pull off pieces of your skin!)

Oh god, I get the same feeling every time I take a sheet mask out of the package, it's all wet and it's just so messy. Charcoal is very popular in Indonesia too! They also use it for their teeth and even hair. The charcoal peel-off mask is pretty popular too here I guess because seems like everyone thinks it makes your skin looks brighter, cleaner, or smoother. I get what you're saying though, it makes sense! But for me personally, I'm kind of interested but have never tried it, because I'm afraid it wouldn't be worth it!

I like using masks from time to time. Just like you both, I prefer clay masks over the other two. I can't stand sheet masks, I never manage to put them correctly on my face and I have the same issue as you, it's always too much, my skin ends up so oily with sheet masks. As for the peel off ones, I have tried some a few times, it worked alright but I'm not really fond of peeling stuff off my skin.
I like using masks for a deep cleaning and a moisture recovery. Depends on the week.
Lately I've been using some of Montagne Jeunesse clay/mud masks, they are usually really cheap (at least here, I'm not sure in other countries), I like their Dead Sea Mud and the Superfruit Mud masks the most. They are perfect for cleansing pores without being too abrasive and/or my skin being itchy and turning red.
As for moisturizing, I tend to use the Turnaround Revitalizing Instant Facial by Clinique. During winter times, I prefer using Hydraphase Intense Mask by La Roche Posay, unlike all the other masks, I do not wash this one off with water, it's my all-time favorite, I love the gel texture.

If anyone is the type to splash out on skincare I really recommend the elemis pro collagen marine cream. The best thing I've ever used on my skin.

I really enjoy sheet masks especially asian brands such as my beauty diary masks. I don't recommend UK/US drugstore sheet masks as they are crap and solution in them are sticky.... >_< I like to use sheet masks after using a clay masks or whenever I feel like it. To use sheet masks you leave it on for 30/45 minutes or until it is dry, the effects with daily sheet masking is very good at targeting concern and hydrated skin. There are many sheet masks regarding your skin concern to choose from. There are also coconut sheet mask which feels amazing. I like to use clay masks once or twice a week, depends if I don't feel lazy lol I don't really recommend those peel off masks, they are way too harsh and damaging to the skin. I use to have oily skin but no longer do, one of the main cause of oily skin is that your skin is dehydrated inside. To solve this I recommend using water based/hydrating skincare, hyaluronic acid is a very good ingredient in skincare that holds onto water. Don't be afraid of oils there are oils out there which are very good for oily skin types. Stay away from products which are marketed for oily skin they usually contain a high amount of alcohol such as in toner which in the long run will make your skin more oily and never solve the problem. Serums are the most active and result driven products out there which I splurge on instead of creams. I like to use a basic hydrating cream and spend my money on serum/masks/treatments. If anyone would like a example skincare routine to combat oily skin/acne please do let me know.

Yes! I have heard that sheet mask is basically formulated for normal to dry skin, and clay mask & peel off mask are formulated for the oily skin. by the way the hydraphase intense mask you were talking about sounds good! So it’s a mask but the texture is gel, does it feel like a moisturizer? And after you apply it on your face you just let it stay there and not rinse it off?

I looooove it and it smells so clean and fresh. It does look like a random moisturizing cream when you first squeeze the product and then it looks like a gel texture when you spread it on your face. I apply it on my face and let my skin absorb it, it is usually done in 10 or 20 min, depends on how much product I put and my skin needs at the moment. So yeah, I do not rinse it off, I know some people take the surplus off with a tissue though.

But I really love that it's green tea, it 's just so relaxing! I can‘t remember... where are you from? Anyway, I use face masks: I don‘t like sheet masks because they never stay on my face, they’re always too big and I can’t move around when using those... so nah. What I really like are clay masks and also some with charcoal. I do them once or twice a week, either while cleaning or having breakfast, depends on how long they need to stay on I used to do peel off masks too, and I actually can‘t tell why I stopped. Ran out of them sometime and never bought new ones, but this remonds me that I could use a few again I bought a mask off Amazon this summer, I cannot remember the name of it but it has charcoal. And I bought this try out kit from those L‘oreal face masks, those which are advertised as ‚multi masking‘ - love those! Other than that I‘m not really spending a lot on individual masks and go with drugstore brands which are surprisingly good.
