When she used to play acoustic guitar and sing was always my favorite. It's gotten more rare as the years go by, I wonder why.

One of the first performances I saw of Sk8er Boi (when I became a fan few yrs later). I loved this performance, her clothes, hair, face, her deep voice 😍.
Sidenote: Billie ellish comes to mind here lookwise

Sidenote: Billie ellish comes to mind here lookwise Just curious, why did it take a few yrs to become a fan since you liked her so much based on this performance?  Listening to the lyrics now, I wonder why the ballet girl with the baby would regret not staying together with the skater boy since she wasn't even into him that much in the first place. Maybe he's rich but he's also on tour and in rehearsals much of the time so she would effectively be the sole parent most of the time anyway (sounds like the father didn't accept his responsibility). I found musicians sexy when I was a teen but a relationship with one wouldn't have worked out even when I was young... |

I did not have internet when Avril debuted. I was also a child. If I heard Avril back then, I do not remember. My first memory of Avril was watching her sing MHE on a TV special. And over the years catching Complicated, SkB, and MHE on radio getting a good feeling about it. But it wasn't until GF that I really heard her. YouTube was readily available. I was in middle school and I became a huge fan. Sorry for the long post lol I like telling my Avril origins ☺️ I think this is the performance that I saw back then. |

Well, tough luck, that boy's mine now. We are more than just good friends. This is how the story ends. Too bad that you couldn't see... See the man that boy could be. There is more than meets the eye, I see the soul that is inside. He's just a boy, and I'm just a girl. Can I make it anymore obvious? We are in love. Haven't you heard how we rock each other's world? They need to cut it, because of TV show (it was too long, and they did not have enough time for full song) or there is some other reason? |

My guess would be exactly that. This show is on network TV, so I'm sure they had a rundown of how long each part should take and how many commercials there were, etc. It's all about timing on a show like that.

She has interesting hair style here I love it, beautiful! I remember this performance, it was in Hyde Park in London. I was in London for the weekend with my parents and never realised she was performing until I was there and found out on the day. Was devastated when I found out it was sold out. I was staying in a hotel just over the road aswell. I saw her for the first time a few months after in London again as it happens. Watching this back I still feel a bit crushed I missed it though  |

I have never seen this performance before. New favorite acoustic from LG. Fun memory for those who weren't fans back then: This was a special for the new Oxygen channel, it was a Sarah McLachlan concert and Avril was opening. This was quite a bit after the TTSMU tour had ended and so everyone was hungry and hoping for something new (didn't happen). This was the first major troll moment that Avril repeated in New York during the AL era- there was a poll on the Oxygen website to vote for which cover song we wanted Avril to play- the choices were Basketcase, Fuel, a Police song, King of Pain and Knockin on Heaven's Door. OBVIOUSLY everyone agreed to vote for the Police song because she had been playing Basketcase and Knockin every night for months during the tour and we had already heard Fuel. The details about the concert at the time were sparse, we didn't know that her set was going to be acoustic. There were hundreds and hundreds of people on Bandaids at the time who voted and people were voting multiple times... and the "winner" ended up being Knockin of Heaven's Door. CLEAR fix. |
