'Losing Grip' became one of my favorites, from the first time I heard it. Keep in mind, I heard her first three albums, for the first time ever, all in the same week. I had never heard anything by her, until I saw her, on SNL. That was a few days after TDBT was released. The next day, I streamed her first two albums, on her web site. But, they only streamed the first 30 seconds, of each song, from TBDT. So, I went to the store and bought it. A few days later, I decided to make a mix CD, for my car. So, I went back to the store and bought her first two, as well. That CD has been in my car ever since.

I was 13 when I first heared losing grip and it was my favorite from Let Go as well. I had that anger in me when i was a teen so it went with me until i was over it in 2009. Then i heard it again a few years later and it just resonated ever since just for the fact that it is damn good, post grunge meets Avril Lavigne Pop. Its on my top list such as unwanted and too much to ask (yeah that very underrated one). I believe those songs from the 1st record aged pretty well!

Apparently Billie Eilish did some radio thing recently where she played 2 of Avrils songs and talked about them, she played KHO and Losing Grip: http://instagr.am/p/CC2Wwc1MPOC I’d love to hear that.

I think it is a very under rated song, and it still holds it's own all these years later. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it, unlike some songs you remember fondly, then you hear them years later and think, man... what was I thinking, Lol. Losing Grip is a true rock classic in my music collection! It's also nice to hear one of the most popular artists today, really appreciates this songs greatness too!

LG in general aged well, but maybe it's just our 2000's nostalgia ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol

I think the video for Losing Grip is underrated too. I remember watching it over and over when it first came out.

TMTA is probably the most underrated song on LG. People sleep on it so much!
Losing Grip video is underrated too. Yeah there isn’t much of a story to it or anything, but I think just the whole look of the video and Avrils attitude on stage is really cool.

Too Much To Ask and Naked are two of the best songs on LG imo. Such a good end to the album.

Too much to ask is one of my least favorite songs of hers. Idky cus it has a good message.
Naked is so underrated by ME! Lol I always forget that song exists then I hear it and it is such a good song.
Over the years, I've come to really appreciate LG. It aged well. Her best written songs are on that album.

But I started listening to this song when I was 10. I barely knew english, I could only understand a few words. But the feeling and the anger translated even without words. Later when I was a teen, my english teacher helped me to translate the lyrics andI loved the song even more. It has always been my favourite Avril song and one of the best songs in general.

I do like Losing Grip and the video for it, but out of the ‘big 4’ (Complicated, Sk8er Boi, Losing Grip, and I’m With You) from LG I think it’s still behind Sk8er Boi and Complicated for me.

I've legit wondered this a lot too, especially when you watch those old DVDs where she brought kids onstage to sing with her (My World DVD for example). I think recently I watched the video on YouTube and checked the comments, expecting the kids in the video to have left a comment about it, but I didn't see them. It's weird to think these kids in the videos were about 15/16 and are now fully grown, probably with children of their own. I wonder if they still like Avril, if they remember that feeling of singing with her, if they tell their kids about it or play her music for them? Or did they grow out of her and don't care about her anymore?

Even though I love Losing Grip, I think that having Anything but Ordinary or Things I'll Never Say as the final single would've closed the era out in a better way. Losing Grip unfortunately only peaked at number 64 in the US, after the top 10 successes of the past three singles. I think continuing with the aforementioned The Matrix produced tracks would've given Avril even more success, as they were similar enough to the past singles due to the same team being behind them, but they are also sonically different enough to stand out on their own. Regardless, I do appreciate Losing Grip acting as a "bridge" of sorts into the heavier sounds of Under My Skin.
