Hi all, long time no post.
I Googled Avril NDA and this thread makes reference to them.
Part of me would love to be bound to an Avril NDA, wonder how high the Damages Clause would be?
I reckon if I signed one with her I might speak anyway, publish and be damned? As in if any of her past partners signed one, what would happen if they disregarded it?

Why would a divorcing partner sign an NDA with her anyway? Was just browsing and catching up, what's in it for him.

www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2024/09/hits-have-kept-this-canadian-rocker-sk8ing-for-the-past-22-years.htmlNew interview. I like the questions they asked and the way she answered as well. Seems like she is aware of her career progress, fans' expectations, and has things lining up for the next few years. It also sounds like she wants to continue to explore different sounds and not just stick to pop-punk sound. Seeing how well her Greatest Hits tour is going and how her singing and artistry (yes, I like the way she put the songs together on GH tour and GH album, the visuals she decided to go with - it's the testament to her vision as an artist + her vocals are more consistent this tour. She even sounded almost like her UMS voice for Nobody's Home. And Losing Grip, I'm With You are phenomenal live) have developed this year, I am excited to see what she does next! It also sounds like she hinted at exploring country sounds. I'm curious to see what other projects she mentioned are. What we know so far about side ventures she mentioned over the years: Christmas album, documentary, Sk8er Boi movie, (an EP?), cookbook.

Unfortunately you need a subscription to read the article. Oh no, last night when I opened the article it was still working, but now there's a subscription wall 🤦♂️ Basically the interviewer asked her about her favorite songs/albums (she said she loves and is proud of them all), how she feels about singing the old songs now (she still loves it and loves how it reflects her journey of growing up, and how her fans grew with the songs as well - I love how she answered this), when we can expect new music (she said she can't spill too much now but after the tour she will go back to the studio to map out what her music will be for next year), her recent collabs (she said it was fun collabing with friends and she is excited about expanding her collab network to outside the pop-punk world), what is next for her (she said she has quite many projects for the next few years that haven't reached the surface, and she is excited about them).

Nice, so it means we can expect some studio posts this month once tour wraps. Hopefully she'll be able to finish it by the end of the year and we can (finally) expect new music next year, which would be great.
I haven't read it either due to it being blocked for non-subscribers, but I think she's referring to the Nate Smith collab on his album, not necessarily shifting to country (which I doubt she ever will. At most, we might get pop/rock with country influences), but I'm guessing she also wants to expand and do some rock collabs as well, since she's been following tons of rock bands in the last 6 months.

Hits have kept this Canadian rocker sk8ing for the past 22 years

“I’m just so glad I started as young as I was -- ‘cause I still feel young,” Avril Lavigne said a few years ago about a music career that began when she was 17, with the multi-platinum success of her debut album “Let Go” and its hits “Complicated” and “Sk8ter Boi.” “It’s weird,” she adds. “Whenever I say to somebody, ‘Oh, 2002 is when ‘Complicated’ came out, they’re like, ‘What?! It was that long ago?!’ It flew by. It feels more like five years.” The Ontario-born Lavigne is not yet 40 (that happens Sept. 27) but she’s accomplished more than many older artists have in their entire careers. Since that debut breakthrough she’s released six more albums -- including last year’s “Love Sux” -- sold more than 40 million records worldwide, won 10 Canadian Juno Awards and even received an Order of Canada honor. Lavigne also co-wrote the “Princes Diaries 2″ soundtrack hit “Breakaway” for Kelly Clarkson, and had acting roles in “Over the Hedge,” “Fast Food Nation,” “the Flock” and “Charming.” She’s been down -- divorces from Sum 41′s Deryck Whibley and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, a debilitating battle with Lyme disease in 2015 -- but never out. And this year she’s taking a minute to celebrate her past with a new “Greatest Hits” album that came out in June and an accompanying tour that focuses on those successes, even as Lavigne plotting what’s next. Lavigne performs at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at Blossom Music Center, on a bill with Simple Plan and Girlfriends... Getting to a point of a career where you have a “Greatest Hits” album and a tour around it is pretty significant. What does that mean to you? Lavigne: I have looked forward to having a Greatest Hits tour since I was first starting out. I love and am so proud of all the music I have put out over the past 22 years, but there is something super special about having a setlist that is all hits and knowing that these songs really resonated with people not only when the songs were first released but consistently over the years. With that in mind, what’s the idea for the kind of show you wanted to present this time? Lavigne: Going into this tour I knew I wanted to do things I hadn’t done before. I knew I wanted to have stage props and inflatables, a kick-ass light show, and to tell a story with the show I was doing. I am super proud of it. Obviously a lot of time has past since those first releases. Has it gone by in a flash or does it feel like it’s been 22 years of this? Lavigne: This question is so tough. I still feel like a teenager and every night when I get up onstage I am reminded of what an amazing life I have been able to live. When I am on the road it definitely feels like things are moving fast but because of that I always make sure when I am off the road to enjoy those moments at home with friends and family. I really try to stay in the moment so that when it feels like life is flashing by I can take the time to enjoy it. Lavigne: I knew that once I started my music career I wouldn’t want to stop. I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me over the years and everyone who continues to come out to the shows and listen to the music. Did I think I would be doing this 22 years later? Yes because it is what I love and where my passion lies. Where do you feel your music fits right now? You started out being called pop-punk, but you’ve explored different avenues since then. How do view yourself now? Lavigne: I never like to put myself into a box. Each album really highlights a different point of my life and growing up. I was an angsty 16-year-old when I wrote “Let Go,” I was in my mid-20s when I wrote “Girlfriend” and ready to have a “Good Time.” In the later albums I had grown and gone through so much, and then on the last album, “Love Sux,” I had so much energy pent up from the pandemic I knew I wanted to get back to my rock roots. I love making music and experimenting, and I look forward to what is next. What do you think is most different about you now, as an artist and person? What have been some of the most important things you’ve learned, and how do you feel you’ve grown? Lavigne: I think what is most different now is I have become more confident in every decision I make. When I was first starting out it felt like I really had to push the people around to me to let me do what I wanted to do but now, since I have always been authentic to who I am, I have learned to be really confident when making decisions and being way more sure with what I want to do. I’m just pouring my heart out into these songs and writing and creating music that I love and that I’m happy with and putting it onto a record and presenting that back to my fans saying `Here’s what I’ve done. Here’s how I’ve grown.’ If they like it, then super. Great. How much of Avril who released “Sk8ter Boi” is still part of you? Lavigne: There is definitely still a lot of that girl in me, even at a young age I was always unapologetically myself and that is something I’ve always held onto. I look back at that time in my life so fondly that I love to keep the fun rebellious spirit into everything I do. Avril Lavigne Avril Lavigne performs at IHeartRadio Music Village, Saturday, September, 21, 2013 in Las Vegas, NV. Lavigne, who will turn 40 later this month, will bring her Greatest Hits tour to Blossom Music Center on Friday, Sept. 6 (Photo by Al Powers/Powers Imagery/Invision /AP) Does it feel like a different person when you’re singing something from 20, 22 years ago? Lavigne: I really enjoy playing all the older songs. For me, playing all these old songs now, it brings all these memories and these moments in time for me. And I think the audience and myself go on this really cool journey of where I’m at now, what I went through, how I’ve grown and developed into an artist and then everything else that I’ve done in the past. Do you have a favorite song, or songs, from your catalog? Or a favorite album or albums? Lavigne: Are you really asking me to pick my favorite child right now? I am so proud of all my albums and where they have brought me to. There definitely are songs I love to perform live, and you can see that reflected in my greatest hits setlist. Hearing the crowd sing the “eh ohs” of “Bite Me,” the rawness of “Losing Grip” live or even watching everyone dance and sing to “Smile”...I love seeing all my eras coming together to reflect this really amazing body of work I have put together. There’s a variety; it’s all over the map. I have different sides to me, musically, but everything still sounds like me. You did quite a bit of collaborating -- with Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud, Blackbear, the blink-182 guys -- on “Love Sux.” What did you get out of that, and is it something you’d like to continue? Lavigne: Collaborating with my friends was so much fun on “Love Sux.” I really want to continue to collaborate in the future and expand outside of just the pop-punk world. I spent some time in Nashville last year with Miranda Lambert, who I love, and early this year I featured on a song with Nate Smith (“Bulletproof,” at the 59th Annual ACM Awards) which was a blast, and I look forward to expanding who I collaborate with. What are you working on in terms of new music or a next album? Lavigne: I can’t spill too much right now but once I finish this tour I am going to get back in the studio and really map out what I want the next year of music to look like. I know people are waiting for new songs and I am excited to share them but I really want to make sure it is all perfect first. What would you still like to accomplish moving forward? Lavigne: Where to even start? With “Greatest Hits” it was a celebration of the last 22 years, and now I am looking forward to the next 20. There are so many projects I have been working on that haven’t reached the surface yet that I can’t wait for everyone to see in the next few years.

So it sounds like then she’s going back to the studio after tour and either reworking what she has or writing new stuff. “I want to make sure it’s all perfect first.” I’m betting she no longer feels the songs from 2022 to early-mid 2023, probably too much time has passed and her life is so different now. I can see why she’d probably want to scrap that stuff like Rap Star and D*ck, etc.

To me, it sounds more like "finishing touches" than reworking an album from scratch. I suppose most of the 2022 sessions will be scrapped and she'll probably leave a few from 2023 + whatever new music she records towards the end of the year.

It's always interesting what pictures Avril (or even normal people) considers "beautiful" of herself. Cause otherwise she wouldn't post them. http://instagram.com/p/C_yLiKNx5xE I think the filters make her look odd and less beautiful. And the amount of hair... no words. There is currently this thing on Insta and TikTok where people speak about "blonde blindness" (never feeling like your hair is blonde enough until even platinum blonde doesnt feel blonde enough) or "eyebrow blindness" (having unnaturally thick eyebrows in a colour way too dark) and other forms of "aesthetic blindless". Cause when you see yourself everyday, you get used to your look and then want "more" of whatever you like about yourself or you want to follow the trend etc. I wonder if one day Avril will look back and be like "woah, that was a look of extensions" lol.

i really think avril deserves a vanguard award from mtv, you cant deny her influence on pop music. literally every single female artist active rn credits avril as their inspiration to show them that they could do it too. thats just my 2 cents
