Aside from those you'd buy an album from just because they are your favorite artists, what does it take for you to decide to buy an album? Do you listen to every song beforehand? Do you got out on a limb hoping you'll like it? Or maybe you purchase it after liking a fixed amount of songs?

I listen to previews on iTunes or stream the album on Spotify first. If I like most of the album I'll buy it. If I only like a few songs it's not worth it to me.

All tracks are worth to buy. I really hate that I bought a album include several lame songs or songs with random production and writing

I listen to the album before i eventually buy it. Some albums i listen to several months on spotify/youtube before i even bother to buy it.
If i only like one or four songs i won't buy it. Sometimes it happens i just take a chance and pre-order and all the times i have regret it.

I usually listen to itunes previews, or check it out on YouTube. Although sometimes if I love one or two of the songs enough I will just download the whole thing and hope for the best.

I listen to previews and as soon as someone puts it on YouTube I listen to it there. But that only happens when I'm unsure whether to buy it or not. When I'm in love with an artist I buy it without doing so.

If it's an artist I'm a fan of, I'll buy it regardless. If it's an artist I'm kind of half-heartedly following, I'll probably already have heard a song or 2 and I'd buy it anyway. If it's a new artist, I'll probably have discovered them through the likes of last.fm or youtube or a friends recommendation so I'll have already heard a song or 2 and I'll buy it. Sometimes I just buy new albums by people I've never heard of just because the cover appeals to me, or I like a song title at that precise moment or whatever. I back quite a few crowd-funding music projects too, so that's buying an album before I can hear any of it. Some of the projects I've backed are people I've never heard of, bit of a gamble, but music is music. I recently backed an opera who only got about 3% of their goal, I was and still am so excited by the project but apparently nobody else cares  |

I really don't buy albums that often. I really have to love the artist. I'll buy Avril Lavigne's albums without listening to any songs for instance.
Otherwise, I usually wait a few days and slowly start listening to all the songs. If I like the majority of the songs and a friend or family member bought the CD, I'll borrow it from them and download the songs. Otherwise, I have to consistently listen to the songs for a couple of months before I buy it. If I listen to the album and just buy it on my own right away, I usually hate all the songs after a month so it's best for me if I wait and make sure I enjoy the songs so I don't feel like I'm wasting my money.

If It's an artist I stan (like Avril or Kesha) I will buy it , no matter what.
If It's an artist I'm not in love that much I listen to it and decide if it's worth or not.
For New Artists I listen to previews, youtube etc.

Since I have Spotify Premium I have bought an album except for Avrils.
BUT I buy albums if it's a new artist and if I like her/his/their music. I think it's important to show support to new and/or independet artists. I wouldnt buy Britney Spears, Rihanna, Katy Perry etc. because they have more than enough money and they dont need mine. Pink was an exception, I bought her You+Me-album because I wanted to show support to this special project.
