Alcohol and drugs have caused me a lot of trouble in the past probably in a similar way to Uncle Bob, being arrested for drunk and disorderly, that kind of thing. For me it's a constant battle to stay in control of my drink and drug habits. The problem is that there's a voice inside my head that doesn't give a shit and just wants to get wrecked all the time. Staying sober for work these days is keeping me really healthy and I've cut my drink and drug days down to two a week over the past year or so. I still enjoy the release of getting smashed twice a week but I can't envisage a life of total sobriety. I'm just trying to find a happy medium, to enjoy things in relative moderation. I've never really got into hard drugs which has probably saved my life but I do smoke cannabis on a weekly basis. It's no secret that America has an opioid problem whereby doctors are prescribing opiates as pain killers to people and then they're getting addicted and then overdosing. This is not a new problem for America but it's getting worse. I blame the way America's health service is funded for this. When people are forced to pay for their own health care they expect a competitive service from their doctor which may result in them bending the rules in the medications they prescribe. Demi Lovato was on some kind of opiate when she overdosed. Nope, you can't go wrong with alcohol and a little cannabis now and again in my opinion. I am going to go a bit on a ramble here, because that's what I love to do. Anyways, I live sort of like a square protestant dad from a cheap-ass TV drama a lot of the time - no alcohol periods can go for months, haven't had weed since one bastard put some of that stuff in a "very special cigarette" that I had to try, lol, but that was a long time ago. As saying, I never had any urge for alcohol consumption, so I only do it for particular reasons - Wine is great for apetite, especially with some foods such as pizzas, lasagnas and stuff, light beer with lemon has excellent refreshing taste for summer days, Rum is for calming nerves on rare occasions when stuff piles up, etc. With that said, I've never been dead drunk, which means I am a big outlier, especially here in these parts. Why? Firstly, because I have a fear of not being in control of the situation, and secondly, because I have a very high tolerance of alcohol - the same amount that makes others already behaving somewhat differently and having balance issues only gets me to the "feeling warm, calm and comfortable", and that's more than enough for me - I really don't feel the urge to vomit or not to remember where I've been. Now that I'm writing this, I've been thinking, is it an alcoholic behaviour to drink 1% and 2% beverages (Radler stuff) for a good portion of summer? I mean, technically I've probably had some alcohol in my blood constantly for weeks and weeks, but very far from drunk levels.

Yeah! Great stuff slapstick, thanks for the reply. I love those radler drinks too and no, you aren't an alcoholic. Great for the summer. I'm impressed by how sensible/civilised you are. I can relate to not wanting to be out of control but I think I've pretty much mastered it as I've got older. I know my limits now. As for someone spiking your cigarette, that's an asshole thing to do. Do you smoke tobacco? I think smoking is a terrible habit. I quit cigarettes about ten years ago. I smoke cannabis pure in a pipe and I don't much like doing that. Yeah, spiking someone's drink or smoke is a shitty thing to do. Which country are you from anyway?

Hmm, how did you come to a conclusion that I'm civilised? I don't smoke anything, never really did it, but at the time I didn't mind trying out a cigarette or two at an opportunity, because plenty of my friends did/do it, and they constantly switched between different brands and tastes. I'm from the land of Lake Bled and Melania Trump (her homeland anyway), btw

I thought it was quite civilised of you to have a drink for each occasion. I just drink anything. Never been to Slovenia. I hope it's nice!

You're welcomed here, there's plenty of Brits coming down here all the time, you can catch some relatively cheap (60€-120€) return flights from London, and accommodation/restaurant prices can be much cheaper compared to UK ones.

We came to Slovenia last year as part of road trip around Europe. Lake Bled was absolutely stunning. People lovely too.

Crack and heroin! Hardcore. I guess she's lucky to still be alive. I don't know what purpose heroin has in society other than to glorify death.
