"In 1999 Avril Lavigne auditioned for a part in a my no-budget production "Discovering Emma". She was 14 at the time, and had just performed with Shania Twain in Ottawa. In November 2000, Arista signed her to a deal after hearing her sing in New York. This is an interesting look at her before she became famous, and before she released her album "Let Go" in 2002. She didn't get the part, but she did a good job delivering the lines. I found her audition on an old VHS tape I was about to toss out. The picture is a bit grainy, and I cut it down to 5 minutes. The original full-length (VHS & DVD) is available to interested parties. (William van Asperen ©1999)".
Amazed with her beauty back then!
