I really feel like the album will be worth the wait. But waiting around 5 months for another single (if there is another single) would be too much. Come on, Ramona, leak one more song behind your label's back.

One thing is that radio is dying and the other thing is that Radio is so important to chart. So many songs on the top 10 have a bigger impact on radio than in Streams.
For example Taki Taki has tons of streams on Spotify and Youtube and it's only on the top 20, but has 0 impact on radio.
CardiB's label used payola on radio to start her career. It's the only thing money can buy, because you can't buy the streams or the digital sales.
Delicate by Taylor has poor streams on YT and Spotify, but it is doing really good on radios, that's why it became a top 20 and has been in the charts since March.
A song needs masive streams by day to become a hit, Drake was having millions by day and that's why he has several #1s
Avril is not getting those streams to be back on the charts. She needs radio. They can use some payola on radio, giving them some money to play the song more and more, and then people start liking it and so on, just like with CardiB.
Unpopular opinion here.

She did sound really excited in this interview, and I agree with Sara that she may have said "I THINK the album will come out in February" to protect herself knowing her past experiences. |

Is it me or she didn't sound excited about it? "This continues on this album.." about emotional sound. "I think the record will come out in February it's already done." You think?? Avril come on! Well I knew this but still it hurts knowing she's still unsure. But as she said the album is done! She's not recording still at least. Very short interview seemed like she wanted to continue but Kyle cut her off. Given that she's chosen Lyme to be the main theme of her album, she probably wanted to talk about it, but I guess she knows that telling the exact same story multiple times in a row is a bit pointless and noticeable by the listeners. Yeah I didn't like the whole "I think" about the album coming in February either haha but it's Avril after all. Hopefully the album will actually still come in February, if it's done I don't see any reason to keep delaying it. Yay about a tour! I am honestly kind of glad someone finally asked her about the stupid Melissa theory and it was good to hear her be like "What the fuck? That's stupid!"
I did not expect this interview to really reveal anything new, I mean most of her interviews are usually the same. At least they actually asked questions about her instead of themselves and it was good to hear her talk again. Irrelevant, but I have a feeling she didn't actually read any of the argumentations around the conspiracy theory in detail. She could've made some great jokes around the stories, but I guess she doesn't really do internetz hehe  |

Avril has never really had a great radio history, especially post-TBDT. I’m not sure her labels have ever done payola, except maybe for the lead singles. Without it, it seems radio doesn’t care about playing her stuff. That’s why I’m
saying they shouldn’t focus so much on it because even if radio wasn’t dying, she isn’t getting airplay either way. And as already mentioned, Avril’s target audience in particular doesn’t listen to radio for the most part. That’s why her team has kept emphasizing the streaming and Spotify. I think this will be more worthwhile than trying to appeal to radio that doesn’t care about her anyway. I know many artists do it but I strongly dislike the concept of payola. Streaming is becoming the new thing, especially among the younger demographic. Radio may always be “around” in some form but 5-10, or 20 years, from now, I don’t expect at all it’s going to be what it is now. It IS a dying platform, whether you want to admit this or not. TV is too. Streaming and digital content like Netflix/Hulu is taking over everything. At least here in the US that is certainly the case, maybe in other countries it isn’t.

Same account that pointed out Dumb Blonde in late August. Also said that Dumb Blonde would be released as a single and is more of a pop banger like her older stuff, very different from Head Above Water, tho that's not surprising considering the description of that leaked press release a month ago

Like I can imagine Lonely Ones being about how alone she felt while she was bedridden and trying to get diagnosed while having all these doctors telling her she was “crazy,” then it follows with Lucky Ones describing how she was able to make a recovery and get her life back. Would be cool maybe if the album opened with Lonely Ones or it was one of the beginning tracks, then the album ends with Lucky Ones, or maybe Lonely Ones is sort of an interlude and not a full track, but it’s kind of an intro to Lucky Ones. Or.... they just got the title wrong lol Lonely Ones doesn’t really make sense |

The only thing that I'm skeptical about Dumb Blonde, is that it doesn't really flow with the theme of the album.
Also since it's regarded as a rumor, I won't buy it until it's officially confirmed.

Yep, and I don't think they'll release a cover that has minor mistakes like that. Like what you see in the edges of her hair. Dumb Blonde is already a confirmed track from the album. There’s no doubt, since Warner officially posted an article about it (even if it was leaked). Whether or not it will be a single is a different thing.
