My first thought was a rock song like Bad Girl but it’s possible it could actually be a ballad. That would be interesting and unexpected.

OMG I was thinking about Bad Girl too... maybe a dark and moody song, not like UMS, but with some Bad Girl's vibe, if it makes any sense... I don't know about a ballad, it would be interesting indeed but the first single is already a strong ballad, I doubt she'll release another one right after the first one...

I really hope that's not the case. I'm done with her bubblegum, forced pop singles. I'm not saying no to a few modern elements here and there, but Avril has always been better off with real instrumentation, or at least something not as plastic-sounding as those songs. Avril is clearly not looking for a big hit anymore, so I think she's done with those songs for good.
I also doubt that, if she actually released a ballad as a lead single, she'll now come with a super pop song. It wouldn't make any sense. Her label would've definitely prioritized that other song over HAW in the first place.

The lyrics seem promising though. I’m getting Reputation vibes but who knows. |
