BMG is not Avril’s employee. She is their “client.” And they tell HER what to do. Avril does not make decisions about when stuff gets released or in what manner. There would be no point in her having a label if that were the case, she would just form her own label. The label decides when stuff is released, when the album is done, what songs go on it, what the singles are, what the promo plan is, etc. Avril maybe gets some input but decisions are finalized by her team.

BMG is different from the other labels. They claim the artist have the freedom of do what they think is the best because their are focused in the fans the artist already have not in make new ones. But we don't know what kind of deal she has with BMG, but it seems that her new music says Avril Lavigne records or something like that. She picked HAW as the lead, she also said something about that she had freedom on the process of the album, I don't remeber exactly where or when. |
