May i suggest a break from Avril if it is so terribly difficult to wait?
Set your calendar with an alert for february 1st. If there hasnt come a album date by then, you are allowed to freak out.
Im not pointing a finger at anyone. I take breaks too, often more than a week.
Its super boring to stay in the dark and Avril isnt excatly following the pace of other artists and their promotional tactics.
And it is easy for us to point it out.. but we have no clue of what is planed, what is changed, what is team Lavignes 'fault' - what is on Avril. Is her health still playing a role, is she plain out bored?
One thing i can say personally with a invisible fatigue disease, is that you have a resting bitch face almost constantly.
The mussels in your face isnt prioritized for your body's functions. And fun fact is that 99% of the time you dont know about it, unless someone points it out to you.
Not saying that is the case with Avril. But i might be.
Hopefully we have something concrete before christmas.
If february isn't going to be the month of release, i strongly believe her team has learned their lesson of tossing dates around.
The timeline:
December 27th 2016 she posted she was well enough to start working on music again. She wanted to have it out by 2017. Which clearly did not happen.
March 2017 she announced her signing with BMG.
May 16th 2017 she said she just started to produce the album. So there was nothing to release.
July 2017 - she announced she was taking a breakSeptember 2017 she announced it would take longer than she wanted to create the album.
November 2017 she said she had been waiting on a producer (likley Maccio)
And that Warrior among other songs first went into production in november/december 2017.
January 2018 Ferlazzo posted Avril would wrap her album that month
April 2018 Avril on the red carpet revealed her album was a couple weeks from completion.
July 2018 Shooting the album art and music video.
Things start to be prepared to be shared with the public.
september 2018 Single releaseIn short she could not have released an album in 2017 - because there were none.
By quoting "without trying - made an album" also refers to lyrics and content, not necessarily the finished product.
The lyrics hints she dropped, how annoying it must feel to only have a few lines and not a song .. this is Avril sharing with us. This is her way of trying to give something, that we so clearly scream at her to give.
Mike Heller should have never implied anything around the album. Cause it seems like he isnt involved with that part whatsoever. If he is, he should have signed his own NDA.

That she didn't even want to do. She wasn't ready- 3 fetured songs:

It is completely okay to not be satisfied with the single. Personally i love the song but do not see the beauty in the music video.
And i completely understand that we want more. There could have been more transparency. A pre-sale up.
Or at least announce the album title properly if it is Head Above Water with the same cover as the single.
I totally agree with that.
To say we have gotten nothing after the release isnt true. It is not much but there is some;

Maybe there will be a peromance on shows like ELLEN, Jimmy Fallon, Carpool Karaoke or the late night with Corden.
Maybe she'll headline a tour and music videos will be magnificent in 2019.
Dont give up hope yet. Because i know many that have been around since GL that have said if the next album has delays/issues/dont like the sound - would quit being around BA, would quit being a fan of Avril. You are still here
