[ALBUM THREAD] The Head Above Water Thread

Where did they get that info from? Did they get any kind of permission to reveal this info, or did they leak it, or is it just rumours? I just really don't understand why we don't get this information officially from Avril and/or her team.

If all of this is really true: the album cover is imo better than the AL cover, but not much better. It's so awfully dark (even too dark for my taste) and Avril's pose and expression look so forced and unnatural. Very uncomfortable. And somehow she looks tiny and very thin. Dunno if that's bad editing or if it's something like an optical illusion because of the guitar. And half her arm (the one mostly covered by her hair) seems to be gone. And the reflection seems to be a bit off, too. There's just something about the reflection of Avril's foot that looks wrong...

Goodness, actually, the longer I look at that photo, the less I like it. Like, the idea is great, but the execution kind of failed. I hope this is not the final album cover, at least not with these colours and poor edits.

As for the tracklist: I'd hoped for at least 14 songs as well. Or 13. But 12? Yes, it's only one/two songs less, but still. All the registered and leaked song titles we found ourselves, weren't that around 15 altogether? I mean, I get that Avril might not want certain songs on the record for whatever reason, but has she really only managed to find 12 songs? I know, I know, we ought to be happy she's releasing a new album at all, and I am, really. And if even only half of these 12 songs are great, it's obviously better than 20 meh songs. I guess I'd just had my hopes a little too high...

I also can't believe this "Bigger Wow" is still on the album, with that title. The song could turn out to be awesome, but that title... . And "Warrior" as the album closer ... just seems kinda cliché. And I can't help but think about Demi's self-titled album, which also has a song called "Warrior" as album closer (though as track #13).

And yes, I know, *complains* *complains* *complains*. The things mentioned above are just things that disappoint or worry me a little. But of course, I am still very, very happy that the album is finally getting closer to be released, that we're finally getting exciting news, and that Avril is back, able to share her music with us again, after so many years! For that latter alone - even if I'll end up not liking any of the new songs - I am happy and grateful.
