Even is Kiley has sold more than Avril, Avril is much much much more popular, just ask to random people if they know who is Avril or Kiley, and you will see, even if they don't know who is Avril they will know at least one song. And name a popular song by Kiley? I did even know her until people start posting about her here because she is on BMG too. I think in Europe Kylie is very popular. It's funny how you guys are comparing Avril and Kylie. I thought Kylie wasn't around since the 90s or early 2000s(idk anything about this woman except for maybe one song). And for many others it's Avril who they don't know has been around. Like they missed the whole GF era lol

Avril has definitely sold less than 80 million albums. LG sold about 20 million worldwide. Maybe check your facts before dragging another artist? This is a quote from her website. "Over the course of nearly two decades, her global sales have eclipsed 40 million albums and 50 million singles with five albums bowing in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200 and two at #1." |

To jump into this Kylie vs Avril debate, I do think that generally, Kylie is more known here in Europe, but this doesn't necessarily hold true for younger generations of millennials, who had a bit of a disconnect with an older singer compared to Avril who was more of a 'hip' kid for the younger audience at the time.

Kylie: 80m with 14 albums.
Avril: 50m with 5 albums.
I don’t have anything against Kylie; I like her music and I think she is a big name in the music industry, but for some reason, she hasn’t ever been as famous as Madonna, Britney etc.
Comparing to Avril. Avril has lost lots of fans but after 5 years and with a single that is completely out of trend for today’s music standards, she has achieved +1 million SPS worldwide, decent views in Youtube and decent streams in Spotify. She still has power and her album will sell well.
You understimate Avril, she is not gonna be the superstar she once was, but many artists would wish what she has achieved with Head Above Water.
Dancing (last Kylie’s lead single) is not even close to HAW and remember that when she releases the album, the song will get a second wind and her streams will increase considerably.

Nobody’s saying Avril isn’t also successful or popular. But false statements were thrown around that Avril has sold 80 million albums with just LG which is far from true. If you’re going to compare artists, at least get the facts straight.

Not that I think anyone here is lying, but I actually had to go to Avril's instagram just now to see for myself... Wtf kind of mess is this?!  I wasn't a fan of the album cover at first, but when I gave myself time to think about the meaning behind it, I actually started liking it. Except for the editing mistakes, those were/are still awful. I was actually hoping that they would "update" the cover art, fix some of those editing mistakes and make that fixed version the new/official version. Wasn't it similar with the AL cover? Didn't the original one have different lighting and a completely black background, but then they changed it to make it look less creepy / more natural? So yeah, I really hope they'll upload a "fixed" version of the album cover and not a completely new one. Imo it would've been even better if they'd just kept the original cover online as well, because taking it down is kind of like denying it ever existed. It's a mess. The cover is still on Twitter, FB etc. I hope it’s just for fixing and not changing it because of her fuckin “fans” bullying her to change the cover.

I really hope as well that they will just edit it, cause it clearly needs some fixing to look more natural.
And I think the fans should really speak up when something is not so nice (like the bad editing) but the biggest problem is how they say it. They don’t need to keep the shitty “hey Melissa, real Avril would never do that” thing. Actually the Melissa comments piss me off way more than anything else
