I've lost a lot of respect for Rockstar as a publisher over GTA Online. But they DO make wicked games. 2.5 years later and I still love pissing around in GTA V (singleplayer). I'm looking forward to the offline half of RDR 2. I'm really hoping they don't cut back on RDR 2 singleplayer for more overpriced multiplayer DLC π Also the fact that they're not releasing it on PC initially shows that they're probably trying to double (or triple) dip again like they did with GTA V. Release first on Xbone and PS4, then a "remastered" version for the Xbox One X and PC a year later.

Looks like I'm getting re-obsessed with Elite Dangerous. I think I'll also take the time to rant about my grievances about this game. - Grind. Grind. Grinding. This game is all about that grind. Nearly everything is locked behind some sort of grind. From credits to naval ranks to elite ranks, all require a shitton of grinding. And it gets repetitive too.
- Every time a new "gold mine" is discovered, whether it be incredibly lucrative smuggling missions or rewarding passenger missions, it gets nerfed to the ground. You better be quick to make those several million credits before the devs find out and kill it. And if you find your own gold mine, you might wanna keep it to yourself.
- The naval rank grind. The most mind numbingly tedious part of the game. If you wanna get the big and powerful ships like the Cutter or the Corvette, you better have a high enough rank. You would think that by fighting in conflict zones or pretty much doing ANY combat related activity would help you gain ranks? Nope. It's all about being a delivery boy or bribing your way up with donation missions. And the grind grows exponentially as you climb the ranks. There's absolutely nothing "naval" about gaining ranks. It's just flying from point A to point B 500 times, or clicking a few buttons to donate a few hundred thousand credits before logging off and on again to get more donation missions, a few hundred times. I gave up after getting enough rank for the Clipper and Federal Gunship. I just can't stand it, so it looks like I'm never ever going to get to fly a Corvette.
- Engineers, more like RNG-ineers. You need to scour the surfaces of planets, kill ships, scan beacons, in hope that you finally get that one rare material or data that you need for a modification. Only to be thrown more RNG as the game gives you a middle finger and shits out a crappy modification that isn't worth the time you placed gathering the damn materials. And may the Elite gods help you if the mod you want requires a mission only material.
- Actually unlocking some of the engineers can be a chore. One of the engineers I'm trying to unlock requires modular terminals. These are one of those accursed mission only materials that are pretty much never rewarded when you want them. Oh, and I need twenty-five of the bloody things. I already have enough trouble trying to acquire one!
- The computer is a cheating bastard. Literally. If you piss off the wrong factions, they send annoying bounty hunters after you. What's bullshit is that even if you're in an Asp with like 40 ly jump range, these bounty hunting bastards can follow you jump-for-jump in their 10 ly Eagles. In combat NPCs can be really naughty. They have 100% pinpoint laser accurate precision with railguns, so you can have Eagles pounding away at your shields with impunity from kilometers away. They seem to always have an unlimited supply of shield cell banks and chaff, so some of the bigger ships take forever to kill. Not to mention that NPCs seem to ignore heat. If you try to use a shield cell bank without a heatsink launcher, your ship turns into an oven. Not for NPCs, they don't give a damn about the heat. Maybe they're just stupid and don't realize their ship is cooking, I don't know.
- Gang up on the human. Start attacking an enemy NPC wing? All of them stop attacking that giant Type-9 and focus on you. Accidentally hit a cop or, god forbid, shoot a pirate before you finished scanning him and confirming that he's wanted even though like 10 cops are shooting him? All the cops stop shooting that Viper you were trying to help kill and start trying to kill you instead.
- The general state of PvP combat. There is absolutely no point on doing PvP since it barely gives any money and costs you more in ammunition and ship rebuys. PvP combat is incredibly unbalanced because of Engineers. Unless you have grinded dozens of hours into a ship making it as strong as possible with weapon and shield mods, you won't stand a chance.
- No proper punishment for gank squads. All they get is a slap-on-the-wrist fine that they can clean away by simply buying a cheap Sidewinder and slamming into the station walls until they blow up. Gank squads are free to terrorize newbies without repercussions because of the lack of a proper crime and player bounty hunting system. Sure, you can try to fight them back but they're gonna be using those shitbucket engineered ships. I'm all for gank squads and what not because it's pretty much the wild west in Elite, but there needs to be actual consequences for hostile actions. There's always solo and Mobius PvE if you want to avoid them fortunately.
- The community, at least on Reddit. Beneath the surface it's pretty much egotastic PvPers throwing petty insults at PvE players and stroking their ego, or PvE players throwing petty insults at PvPers. Damn, especially some PvPers who seem to be particularly toxic. Then there's PvE players wishing bans to anyone who has ever harmed another player, as well as PvPers insulting players that go to solo or Mobius to avoid ganks. Damn, can't everyone just play your way and not mind how other people play?! Go solo/Mobius if you don't wanna deal with ganks, go Open if you wanna fight others. The subreddit is one that I recommend that you never go past the first page, but occasionally you see a PvP circlejerk or whine thread make it to the top. Don't get me wrong though, the Elite community is still several magnitudes better than the GTA community.
Well, compared to GTA Online the grind is actually probably worse, but at least Frontier isn't driven by micro-transactions and shark cards. The game is still pretty fun, just don't burn out from it. And if you decide to go for exploration, you can avoid pretty much all of these grievances.

When the most terrifying boss in Bloodborne just gives up and wants to hang out
Yeah it's a bug. SoulsBorne bosses have 'phases' where they change form and become more aggressive, and I somehow interrupted his second phase by parrying and backstabbing the shit out of him. Kind of neat.

I got them modular terminals and managed to get those G5 dirty drives for my Courier I can do better Some people were able to get 800+ m/s boost speeds with a full combat loadout so I still got some work to do π I've tried a loadout of 2 fixed multi-cannons and 1 lightweight railgun w/ cascade but it takes forever to take out shields and the position of the Courier's hard points makes it difficult to target modules with fixed weapons π’

By modding my wing-mounted multi-cannons for lightweight and significantly reducing the size of my fuel tank I got even closer to 800 m/s. I'm gonna need a pretty god-like roll for G5 dirty drives if I wanna hit 800 m/s it seems π But hey, my cruising speed is more than 100 m/s faster than most people's boost speed π

I just won my most intense battle yet. I was in my engineered Imperial Courier (now named Hurricane) vs a deadly NPC Federal Corvette (also my first time ever seeing an NPC Corvette). It was an assassination mission. I was to head to a system to seek out and eliminate a notorious pirate lord. I headed to the planet the pirate was said to be lurking near when I spotted the mission signal beacon. I promptly jumped in, only to be greeted by a damaged Type-7 and two Sidewinder wing. "Hmm. This is going to be an easy battle," I thought to myself, only to spot a 4th ship signature on my radar. I scanned it and read what the sensors stated. Ship class: Federal Corvette, Combat rating: Deadly. I didn't have time to stare in awe as I was immediately pummeled by a twin class 4 plasma accelerator burst, knocking out a third of my shields. Now the battle has started, with me at a disadvantage as my opponent laid down the alpha strike. First I was to eliminate his shields. Thermal weapons are best suited for this, so I attacked with my class 2 beam laser. It has the Thermal Shock special effect, which heats up the ship you're attacking. I was hoping that would allow me to overheat the Corvette's vital internals, but his cooling system was too effective. The Courier is a very nimble ship. I was easily able to stay out of the Corvette's firing line, and lay down a constant stream of laser fire. Unfortunately for me, he had turrets which were slowly whittling down my shields. I would have used chaff if I had it fitted, but I opted for only shield boosters on my utility slots, so I had to rely on my ship's maneuverability to avoid turret fire. The Corvette had shield cell banks and was using them right when I thought his shields were going to break. I didn't think I was going to take out his shields before he broke mine. Right before I was about to make a break for it and bring a stronger ship, I saw that he had run out of shield cells. After what seemed like an eternity of laser fire and maneuvering, the shields finally went out. I then opened fire at his power plant with my twin class 2 multi-cannons. My shields were at its breaking point. I had to knock out his power plant before my shields broke and my fragile Courier hull was ripped apart. More maneuvering, dodging turret fire, and unleashing a barrage of cannon shells. Before I knew it, his power plant was at 0%. I fucking did it. My tiny Courier destroyed the most powerful combat ship in the galaxy. Fuck yeah.

I'm not an expert in main battle tank armor technology but I'm not sure if a WW2-era KwK 40 75mm cannon should be capable of knocking out a modern MBT like an Abrams or Challenger Also apparently a Sturmpanzer 2 is capable of knocking out an Abrams in a single shot. Countries should ditch the expensive MBTs and just go for Sturmpanzers instead

Started playing "007 nightfire" on the PS2. Haven't played a computer game for years but I figure I quite enjoy shoot'em ups so I'm giving this a go. Enjoying it so far, on level 2. Took a while to get the controller options correct but I'm kicking bad guys asses now. I've played a few James Bond computer games in the past and always enjoyed them. The films seem to translate well into computer games. Only cost me Β£1.99 from a charity shop for a fair few hours of out dated entertainment. God bless charity shops and God bless me!! (I work in a charity shop.)
