Wait... The first (amazing) Lights Out wasn't a Rotem production?! I thought it was hahaha I thought it was omitted from HAW coz it was Rotem produced... this makes me angry coz its probably the best song from the whole era and it didn't even make the cut!

Aaand rofl, this remix!! I wonder how much Avril has been emotionally attached to songs that were scrapped because of her personal life issues? Has it been hard for her to just give them up? I would imagine so. Supposedly this song belonged to another artist before Avril recorded it, a woman named Carah Faye was singing it live as early as 2016 and said she wrote it. Avril probably demoed it for herself and maybe changed a few words around or something, so if it was basically someone else’s song I can’t imagine she was super attached to it. Probably one of the reasons it didn’t make the album either. |

According to genius.com, the "normal" version of "Lights Out" by Avril was also produced by Rotem (he's also a co-writer of the song, btw). I don't know where Genius gets their information from, so I don't know how reliable this info is. I guess in the end it doesn't really matter, though, does it? The Rotem mix is awful, we all seem to agree on that, lol. As for HAW (the album), maybe he did initially contribute some amazing stuff besides "Birdie" (and "Lights Out" non-remix). Maybe he didn't. We might never know... To me, judging by the sound quality, this does sound like it could be real. The other version of "Lights Out" that got l**ked a couple of months ago has a bit of a lower quality sound to it. I also find that this remix sounds very similar to this snippet that was l**ked ages ago: soundcloud.com/avrillavigneleaks/avril-lavigne-lights-outHowever, I'm pretty sure the snippet is the Steve Aoki remix. So... does this mean there are two remixes? The as yet unreleased one made by Steve Aoki, and the newly l**ked one mixed by Rotem? I'd never even heard of a Rotem remix before...  Either way, this supposed "Rotem remix" (or whatever it is) sounds awful imo. Doesn't even suit the song at all. If Rotem really did create this, it's crazy to me how he could produce a masterpiece such as "Birdie", yet also create this god-awful "Lights Out" remix. I’m just speculating, but having the majority of the album produced by Rotem at first (there’s also a version of HAW produced by him) would explain why Av took so long to find producers for it. Remember it was basically delayed because she was looking for the right producers after their breakup? I honestly kind of forgot about Rotem's initial involvement, lol. I don't think I've ever realized there's a version of HAW produced by him? Is it on YouTube/Soundcloud/similar? |

The melodiess and lyrics are a little different and it’s obvious it’s a rough demo, but it’s a pretty song.
I wish she didn’t sing the chorus with so much power. It kinda ruins it for me.
I can hear why it wasn’t chosen to be on HAW.
It Was In Me was among the obviously better songs they wrote together for haw.

It Was In Me was among the obviously better songs they wrote together for haw. I stopped liking It Was In Me after hearing the official instrumentals. You can literally sing I'm With you on it, perfectly. And when Avril and Lauren (I don't remember who) confirmed they wanted to write I'm with you part 2, I liked it even less .. it seems so forced and uninspired to me 😅 but obviously it's just my cup of tea, I can totally understand why fans love It Was in Me. Lucky Ones anyways has a beautiful melody, makes me think of winter nights, and the lyrics are also much more relatable to me |

Het voice is so beautiful in it and made me realize again how much I love her voice. She’s SO good in ballads but with ballads I have to feel a connection to really get and love the song and with Dare To Love Me for example I don’t have that but these 2 HAW leftovers are like written for me and they should’ve been on HAW I think! |

I won't post any link out of Youtube because it's against the rules, but anyways I wanted to inform that Lucky Ones with a slightly better quality in the audio is available somewhere.
I'm not an expert of these things but some of you may appreciate the difference between 120, 160, 180 kps and stuff like that.
I don't know if the one posted on Youtube is already the better version 😅
I hope a better quality version of Eternally will be available too but I doubt it because otherwise it would already be out after the long time it leaked.
My bet is that either Sharing Platforms used to store and send files, "compress" them automatically to make them less heavy for sharing (and it could be the case of the 2 versions of Lucky Ones) or on the other side about Eternally maybe because it's a Demo they didn't completely refine? I don't know, my ear is not that trained but Joker seems to sound a bit better than Eternally.
