Yeah! I think this leaked with a group of other HAW outtakes like the warrior demos and in touch back in 2019. Oh how happy I was. I Want What I Want, Warrior acoustic and demo, Lucky Ones (the L. I get confused with Lucky Ones and Light's Out. In this case, I am talking about the one that sings about about driving in November. It recently got taken down. I believe it was Lucky One.
I liked it. I liked how she sang it even if it wasn't ready for release. I like the sentiment behind it. of thinking of a lost relationship and how she thought they should have worked. But I don't think it's next level at all. It doesn't sound like her song. I can see why it was rejected. However, I would have preferred songs to this effect over half the other songs on the album.

Lights Out if it was on the album and a single could’ve been the biggest hit of the album and been her first top 10 since like 2011. It’s such a beautiful song and her voice is absolutely amazing on it. It’s a shame that the situation with Rotem stopped this song being officially released.

To be fair we don’t know the reason it didn’t make the album. It wasn’t necessarily because of Rotem, maybe she just decided to scrap it for other reasons (she did put Birdie on the album). |

As I have maybe already said before, I think that the decision to scrap Lights Out might have had something to do with finding out that the song had already been publicly performed a long time ago and videos could have surfaced online, even if they managed to get the ones that are already on youtube deleted. Maybe Carah's demo was sent to record companies and she was going to be just a ghostwriter for some other important artist. Unfortunately this is unfair but happens. So she would have never got credit for the song or maybe she would have just appeared as a co-writer based on the minor changes Avril did. But since Carah decided to publicly perform Lights Out as her own song, it was too late. At that point Avril could have only included it as a cover by an unpopular artist which sounds odd.

I always get the feeling that songs brought to Avril are immediately rejected (Breakaway/early stages of LG). She must be in the studio with them for her to take them seriously. Avril has talked about her disdain of professional songwriters and even if it isn't a professional and another artist who wrote the song, I feel like she wants herself to be the writer, not something passed down to her. It's a little short-minded and I feel like it holds her back but I understand her POV too. Of course, this is all speculation on my part.

I always said they should have released the live version of Birdie as a single with proceeds going to the foundation. She probably would have made a ton more money from that than the lame virtual concert where she only sang like 4 songs. |

Oh I love Birdie from the first day I heard this! I wish it was a single with a video instead of Dumb Blonde... And it's so sad that she didn't sing it on tour.

With the weather changing into fall I find a lot of comfort in HAW album again. Especially the first half. Even tho it wasn’t released in fall it feels like the first half is fall and last half is spring/summer.
