So, this morning the news is that 6 people in a small town close to Milan (1 hour drive) are positive to Coronavirus. Other 250 people are being checked right now. They always told older people are more likely to die from it - but - a guy among these six is young and healthy (he is an athlete) but he's in serious bad conditions. All the repatriated UK nationals from China have been flown to a hospital not far from where I live and are being kept in quarantine. Not many people in the UK have it. That’s why I’d be pissed off if she cancels because of it. What’s the news on coronavirus like in the US? Are they reporting that everyone in Europe are all walking around with masks on too and black crosses above our doors like the plague? 😂 Ahaha no, but in these 3 small cities where the infection is right now, the government asked these people to stay in for 2 weeks. Everything is closed right now: banks, post office, schools, train-stations, everything. Just local stores or food and pharmacy are open. Not everyone has masks because they are sold-out in every local pharmacy. PS Today I heard BTS cancelled their show in South Korea

But we also have to remember for Avrils sake too given her immune system is weaker from having Lyme, she can get sick more easily now too. And of course with so many people gathered in one place, it’s a bigger risk to have someone get sick too. For a concert, it just isn’t worth it. I know people are looking forward to it, but if it came down to having to cancel, they need to prioritize everyone’s health over a concert. It’s not like she couldn’t reschedule and come back at a later date.

Pretty sure everything's fine in Europe at this point. There's no reason to cancel the tour unless it gets much worse in next few weeks.

I hope she won't cancel and takes it at ease while on tour in between dates.. I have thought about it tho that she would cancel due to Coronavirus. I hope it will all turn out well!

Italy, China, Japan and Hong Kong will almost certainly be cancelled/postponed. Already, events around the world are being cancelled due to the risk. Avril would be reckless to go ahead. At this point I’d be surprised if the Olympics goes ahead this year. I’m due to go to Japan in April & again in August (one for holiday, one for work), but I’m already anticipating I’m going to have to be prepared to lose money on some bookings.

If you made your reservation with booking.com or any Expedia group site know that coronavirus is one of the few reasons you can get your money back anytime. Just talk with the client support and NOT directly with the hotel.

Hmm, apparently someone ill came to Italy, and they've no idea who this "patient zero" is, so now they got a bunch of infected people, and no clue how many more walking around, contaminating further. It may turn out to be a rather small 'spillover', but there is a decent chance it ends up with an outbreak right in northern Italy, which could then spread to Switzerland and South Germany. In such case, prepare for possible cancellations.

I think this will be a massive overreaction if she cancels the tour in Europe because of coronavirus. Im pretty sure the seasonal flu is more deadly than corona. I’m just speaking strictly about how things are in my country at the moment. I get she has a weaker immune system and is right to think about her health. But I think at this time there is nothing major to worry about. I can just see some manager or advisor telling her to cancel. It’s on the same lines of when people were like don’t travel to the UK because of mad cows disease!

^ Her cancelling show wouldn't be about her catching it so much as a lot of people getting together in a group and it spreading easily in those conditions and lots of the people going to the concert getting it, many of whom would then take it back to their own countries as many are travelling long distances to see her. It's highly contagious and while it isn't massively deadly unless you're very young, old or have a compromised immune system (though those people should still be considered) the worry is there's no cure and anything that spreads that easily can also easily mutate into something worse. Ultimately, if anything is cancelled to limit the virus' spread it will most likely not be her decision but the decision of the venues/countries she's playing it.

Corona is killing 2%. Much higher than the flu. She will cancel which is really sad considering the buzz.

Honestly better safe than sorry. If I were going to be going to the show, I'd be kind of concerned about possibly catching something and no concert is worth it. They have to think of everyone involved, both Avril and fans. I don't see how doing what's in the best interest of everyone is an "overreaction." It's a weird virus that up until now nobody even knew what it was. Who the hell wants to risk getting infected just to see a stupid concert? Like literally... it's just a concert. It's not that big a deal for them to move it, concerts get rescheduled all the time. She was forced to do the same thing on the Black Star Tour when the Japan dates had to be moved because of the earthquake.

I agree Bogo. I meant it’s sad that she’s riding this wave of popularity and to recapture that could prove difficult down the road. Hopefully not.
