Boris Johnson has announced that indoor performances can return in the UK from August. Still a long way to go, but a step in the right direction for concerts. You mean..next month ? I read yesterday an interview of a man working anthem music industry (I can't remember his name, but his is an important name) and he said live shows would probably not come back before 2022, thing which will create a huge crisis even more than we can imagine. He also said Coachella in June 2021 is too optimistic to happen. I hope he's wrong..

But to say no concerts until 2022 is quite pessimistic, I'm not sure the industry could survive that.

It's possible, even here in Italy somebody talks about the opportunity to start events again, but with no more than 100 people inside.

You couldn’t pay me to attend a gig in two weeks time!

August seems very ambitious for gigs but 2022 is downright impractical and completely unrealistic. I’d say gigs could reasonably start happening next year if the venue is limited to half capacity. And of course all the same social distancing measures in place, temperature checks before allowing guests inside, etc.
Luckily in Avrils case she is going to Asia and Europe where things have significantly calmed down. By early next year, I would think she shouldn’t have any problem playing in those places.

I hope you're so right Bogo. Here in Itay some artists are setting live shows dates inside big venues for October and November 2020.. but our minister said he wants to prorogate the emergency till 31st December. So I don't know how/why they set this dates already and start selling tickets... ?!
Also the main musical show in Italy, Sanremo (where Avril also went once as a guest playing What the hell) for the first time has been postponed, from Feb 2021 to March 2021 and they hope it can take place in March. Let's hope!

Here in Spain concerts are already taking place... But half capacity and only allowed with people seated and 1,5m minimum distance between seats...

Yes festivals, but the main theme behind was big crowds in front of a stage, it's not like festivals can't take place and a solo singer show can.

Festivals like Coachella are definitely a different scenario than your average concert. Although at least festivals are outdoors. But certainly I think festivals would be a huge breeding ground to spread the virus, especially if you've got people traveling to attend. If anyone travels out of state to attend, they should self quarantine for 2 weeks when they've returned. They might also have to put physical barriers in place to keep people 6 feet apart, which would probably also mean limiting the capacity so everyone can have plenty of space. Restrooms would be a whole other story though. I'm pretty sure all they have are portopotties which were never sanitary to begin with.

The Prime Minister says he hopes for the UK to be back to near normal in time for Christmas. So Avril will be fine to come here in March, providing we keep this thing under control.

Yes I understand your thoughts and I agree with the fact that festivals gather people from different countries and there is the problem of people coming from places where the problem is still serious. At the same time I don't think it will be a matter they will take into consideration: they are already putting on barriers for people coming from these countries at the moment regardless of the reason why they intend to travel. So imo, once live shows will re-open, it will be the same, as solo artist or festivals. if somebody who lives in a country where the infection is still spreading wants to attend it, he will be denied the entry in the country where the festival takes place, regardless he's coming for the festival or for work reasons or whatever, he cannot come anyways. But I'm sure once live show happen again, any kind of show will have the green light.

That's good news. If it wasn't looking good for the European shows going ahead, I doubt they would add new ones.
