I discovered a band called Men I Trust recently, they have been playing quite often. I think I listened to Oncle Jazz last. I need to buy some of their CDs

Live - Throwing Copper (1994)
- Keep finding myself coming back to this one. One of those albums that get better with each listen. - Was a big hit at the time, Album hit #1 on the Billboard Top 100 and of the 4 singles: two went #1 on the US Rock Charts while the other two made the top 6. But the bands inability to match the quality of the album in previous/later releases (as well as a very unfortunate band name for the google search age) has led to it being slowly forgotten by many over the years. - Sonically the grunge influence is palpable, with heavy grungy guitars and the transitions from soft to loud, but it feels wrong to pigeon hole it in that category. However, it also feels unfair to classify it as post-grunge, it's markedly somewhere in-between. The musicianship and production is top notch across the board, everything sounds just right. Lead singer Ed Kowalczyk's vocal talent is striking, and he pairs it with strong, catchy melodies and a truly unique lyrical style. The lyrics are laden with obscurity that, rather than causing confusion, instead leaves you finding new meanings with each listen. The lyrics are also riddled with multi-religious themes that add an almost philosophical quality, but without going so far that it becomes an actual religious album. - The singles are of course all fantastic (Lighting Strikes, Selling the Drama, I Alone, All Over You), but the true standouts are "Iris" (not the Goo Goo Dolls song lol), "Pillars of Davidson", and especially "White, Discussion". - Their MTV Unplugged promoting the album is also one of the most underrated, if not THE most underrated, MTV Unplugged sessions. The band's talent with their respective instruments really gets a chance to shine in an acoustic setting:

I have given this album to a couple of friends as bday presents. I still have 3 or 4 of their albums.
