I doubt the video is close. She looks like is only resting. If she’s still thinking on this single I believe it will be released before the tour.

I hope we get it next year. I think the era will be over after this single.

The era will end after her touring in Asia I guess. So let's say somewhere September 2020 it will be completely over maybe?

I’m still hoping she’ll add some SA dates after the Asian leg by the end of next year

Usually the era is over when the tour ends. And I think that would be a good way to close this era. There’s not really any reason to drag it out further, it’s clear she’s lost any interest in releasing more singles or playing any of the new stuff live. For me the hype this era died ages ago and I’m totally bored of the album. I’m ready for her to start working on new music ASAP. Knowing her pacing, we probably won’t get anything new from her until at least 2021.

I know but maybe a few performances on tv-shows so my guess is somewhere september maybe? What for? She isn’t doing it now, what would they bother to book her anything? I’m fine as long as she tours. I totally prefer her being a touring artist, not necessarily releasing new albums to go on tour. Especially with the set list she loves having. I don’t really care if It Was In Me is another single or not, it won’t make any change. I have a feeling that the era was over before the album even came out xD you know, there was a hype for and after the lead single and since than it started to disappear, we were hyped for the album for a moment it lasted a while only and here we are. Luckily she tours.

Luckily she tours. If her team was organized in the future, they’d announce the tour and album pre-order at the same time as the lead single. She’ll only get hype and articles for the lead single as a legacy artist, and needs to take advantage. Bundle in the album with tour tickets and have inflated album sales like everyone else.

Actually, knowing that she was struggling to sell out the US leg and only managed to almost sold out shows on the day of the show or a few days before, bundles wouldn’t help at all You need to be a strong touring artist and Avril, who hasn’t toured the US since 2008 (I don’t count her co-tour with BB) isn’t.

^ a strong touring artist....I agree Avril is not. She may be selling well in Europe but it's been 5 years and she's skipped so many cities before. Plus add in the fact that she almost died AND that she hardly puts out new music, people don't want to risk missing out on seeing her one last time. I know people feel like that about many artists. I still hate myself for not going to a Linkin Park show before Chester passed.
But Avril just being a touring artist does nothing. She's not the best performer and her setlist barely changes. Even her fans get bored of it. (Not me tho. I've only seen her one time.) She at least needs to put out singles every once in a while. Think Selena Gomez or how Katy Perry is now doing. If not, she should try to use her business skills and get herself a residency in Vegas. And then spice things up like finally getting that fire she wanted for this tour.
And to end my rant. What would Avril being a touring artist even mean? Her long hiatus make every album she's put out this decade look like failed comebacks and greatest hits tours.

I think Avril enjoys the recording process but has made it obvious she has little interest in playing new stuff live. She seems to love performing the hits and is under the impression that’s what fans want to hear. I think this is the case for most of her fans, who are more casual listeners. As I’ve said before, even I actually enjoyed hearing the hits more in concert than most of the stuff from HAW. Maybe it just depends on the songs and how well they translate to a live setting.
I think she could release singles, EPs, or albums from time to time and still mainly play her hits with a few new songs thrown in. She seems content with resting on her laurels at this point in her career. She is a legacy act at this point and very few people are going to see her because they want to hear new stuff. Most are going for nostalgia reasons. A lot of artists are like that like Britney for example.
However I don’t think Avril would be able to get a Vegas residency. Her type of show is nothing that would attract the Vegas crowd, people expect to see a visual spectacle like Britney or JLo or Celine. And most of her fan base is located internationally, most wouldn’t be willing to travel all the way to Vegas to see her. And she doesn’t have enough fans/popularity in the US to justify it either. Vegas is like a 6 hour plane ride for me plus the cost of tickets, air fare, and hotel. I wouldn’t go.
