This line is so damn hideous. No one above the age of 12 would wear any of these shirts - let alone a graphic tee at all.
With Avril's grunge/rock style she could really make this a fashion line (something similar to Kanye's) literally all she has to do is take a walk through H&M to get an idea of what people are wearing (because it's not these t-shirts). I would love to rock Abbey Dawn if it was fashionable. She could go so far with this line. Over-sized distressed t-shirts with the AD logo maybe somewhere towards the bottom or just below the neck. Ripped jeans, skinny jeans, jackets, button ups...Like sis...who the f**k is really gonna be wearing these shirts?!?!?!?!?!

Calling Avril to walk around fashion brand is like calling kid to do homeworks lol She even hasnt been listening to more music for her major career, how come fashion HA... She might not be bothered do more research on designing those graphic tees lol

Yeah the other thing I can't stand about these latest designs is how the AD logo has to be so big. The earlier pieces were not all like that, some were, but on others the logo wasn't even there at all.

Personally, I think that in addition to what has been said, the problem also lies in the fact that the items just look lazy. There is no creativity whatsoever. They look as if they were made out of pure boredom, as if she felt forced to do them or had run out of ideas and she started designing clothes that looked more like poor quality tour merch for little kids.

I've never particularly liked any of the Abbey Dawn collections anyway, but these do appear quite uninspiring. They are all very logo and print-centric as opposed to style and fit, which won't appeal to most people. Hopefully if the collection expands then the pieces will get more creative, I'm going to put these down to the early days of re-introduction and a smaller budget.

so many critics here. I even can't say something after that. I know nothing about fashion and what is "cool" or what isn't. But making arguments refering to wrinkles. is a little not fair to me. it's about how items were presented, not how they really look. they really were not presented good. if you were looking with more attention, you should notice the identical items differing only in colors, have identical wrinkles, so much identical, it's just impossible without photoshop. all those strange spots and dirty look at edges - are effects of the poor presentation having been done. someone did quick job on computer not bothering about really photographing the items and not bothering with how it would look. but again this is not about clothes! after all, some of you were criticising not only wrinkles, but design too. but this is not the main thing what i wanted to emphasize on. the main thing is whether this active critical reception is so needed? if you are not very excited, wouldn't it be more nice from your side to just say nothing. why so? if i understand right, she is getting to return to her normal state of activity, not only health-wise, with her musical activity and overall. it's kind of the state that needs support and patience. here, she tries to reactivate her fashion activity. it's just a couple of tees. it would be quite possible to not fall into blaming wrinkles on photos, to not use words like "hideous" etc. I constantly am thinking such a reaction is hurting. not necessarily. but well, I suck at english, and I can't express as it is, I feel my writings look not any better than your critics, so I'll stop with this. (yeah, I can annoy people). And being on topic - I liked hoodies and that cupcake dress. but i am a male so I would like to see the latter on female not on me.

I used to be all for Avril experimenting in other creative avenues. I don't wear all the trends but I do know a thing or two. You don't have to know a thing about fashion to see how uninspired and lazy her last several collections have been. I wish she'd stop catering just to kids, too. Avril starts things and stops abruptly and then wants to dive in again which is fine but give your fans and consumers a reason to want to buy your stuff and help support your other career endeavors. I'm not going to buy something ridiculous - especially at the high cost and lower quality- just because her name is on it. I personally feel if you're not all in or can't do your best, don't do it at all. I'm tired of the same old designs and looks. She's had a lot of really great pieces in the past but most of them overall are very unattractive and can't see myself wearing them.

I guess I'm gonna be to outcast and say I actually like most of the stuff and I'm 28 years old. I really like the dress and the hoodies. I can tell she was inspired by her trips to the mall in Tokyo although I gonna guess the budget limited what she was able to do with that inspiration.

If it makes you feel better, Avril doesn't actually design Abbey Dawn all by herself. There's an old interview out there where she explained what she does. Basically she throws out ideas to a bunch of designers, who then turn her ideas into clothes. I assume this process hasn't changed, so it's not like Avril is really responsible for any of this. Someone already pointed out that AD is obviously operating on a lower budget these days, so maybe they just can't afford good designers. Nevertheless, a clothes iron doesn't cost a lot of money.

The only clothes that I see that can be considered "rock/grunge" are the dark skull-based clothes, and that's it. However, I would say her "rock" days are long gone, and she seems to be more into cupcakes, pink and "juvenile" stuff. The majority of this "collection" seem to be catering to younger people, just like old AD clothes did, but this look cheap and even uninspiring. I wish she could make some "grown-up" clothes, she's been stuck in that juvenile style and can't seem (or want) to go further. I'm not saying she only releases dresses or clothes for "old" women, but come on... If these clothes are some kind of reflection of the music she's going to release, I'm not too optimistic

So you say, that thing what you mention, means she doesn't interpret these clothes as something originating from her, being her? so if we are going to call them "hideous" and "second hand like", this is those unknown disigners, not her, would be offended? I missed how easy all the things are. now I feel much better. I never thought she does this entirely by herself. because, come on, how? using iphone? I think it's a hardwork requiruing specific skills and tools, and computer as well. I believe fashion design now requires something like CAD systems only for rags. designing her clothes entirely by herself, avril should be like this: I always was wondering how she was involved in making perfumes. This is even more incognizable for me than with clothes. How one can "throw out ideas to a bunch of designers" in the case of creating perfumes.) (Avril, you might write about these experiences, it's really interesting. In some blog. It's funny to imagine Avril Lavigne writing blog posts.))) but now you aren't even using twitter, which btw has just collected 20M followers for you.)

I don't get how it's supposed to be a unisex onesie. No man (or boy) in his right mind would wear a pink onesie round the house or anywhere else for that matter. I think a lot of the designs are a result of Avril's terrible tattoo she got on her arm firstly of a skull and cross bones and then she tried to cover it up with a cupcake, hence skull and cross bones/cupcake inspired merchandise. I don't believe in tattoos, I think all round they're just a bad idea.

Not a huge fan of the last few collections. I think my favorite lines were during the GL era when she was doing dresses, shoes, and bags. I think that's what she made the coolest shit. I'ma bi dude so obviously I couldn't wear a majority of her stuff, but some of the dude's stuff was decent. I actually own the black and white American Flag AD shirt from like 2011/2012 where the AD is kinda blended in more with the white flag. I thought the girl's stuff had a more rocker/grungier vibe and it totally worked. Her style in general during the GL era has definitely been my favorite so far. The ripped shirts, safety pin thing, the boots, leather tights/leggings, and her hair/everything was just on point that era. Loved her look at Summer sonic and a lot of the looks from the Black Star Tour. If I was a good looking girl in another life, I totally would've rocked a decent majority of those collections.
