I would hope she decides to try to play instruments more often, in the making of songs but also on stage. I don't want or hope she will be a "virtuoso", but at least I would hope she TRIES to challenge herself a bit more. For the last two eras, she seemed to be content with pulling off a "safe" concert, mainly full of singles (old and new), "classic" moves (like the He Wasn't thing) and short concerts considering her 10+ career (she had an excuse during last tour, considering her health issues). She doesn't need any kind of dancers or stupid paraphernalia, she and her band give it all should be enough. Will she want to step up her game and show she wants to be better musician and artist on and off stage? I have my doubts, but we'll see... I agree about everything except the part in bold. Yes, Avril's moves were unoriginal and uninteresting during AL tour, but on the other hand BST was full of new moves. In fact I enjoyed Avril's stage moves the most in GL era. Only in BST she was doing moves like this one: Well, perhaps the most recent tour made me forget some of those new movements that happened during the other, I don't know. I attended one concert during BST, and while I don't remember if she executed some new moves (she did the HW thing), it surely was entertaining and see did a nice job, although I would've liked more instruments playing and a better setlist. AL tour was a bit of a mess, with less instruments playing, worse setlists and shorter concerts; however, we know part of that was due to her illness. I hope she is more flexible in the future when it comes to setlist, don't always use the "singles only" setlist, and add more album, non-single songs (both old and new). She still has a long way to go, she needs to recover from her illness, and we don't really know how much time it will take...

It would be awesome to see Avril playong on the guitar and drums, or even piano as someone has previously mentioned. But if she does not want to play an instrument, I want to see more connection with the audience, and not just sitting there reciting the lyrics of all of her songs. I remember when Avril made 2 people from the audience come up to the stage and sing Complicated. It would be fun seeing that rather than just hearing "Thank you" at the end of every song.
I don't have good experience in concerts to be honest. It's been a long time I attended one even. However, my brother recently went to a Jessie J concert here in Lebanon. I know she's a pure pop star and nothing like Avril, but she was really communicating with the audience. Taking someone's selfie stick and snap a photo, singing Happy Birthday for a girl in the audience, leaving lipstick prints on someone's cardboard.... I think we need these from Avril. We need them so much.

To be honest.... I don't know what was up with Avril durring the first part of the AL era. She seemed really....slow? Uninterested and out of it? I'm assuming it'd have to do with her record not being 100% the way she wanted? I don't know exactly and I can't put my finger on it... but something was up. It was like after the Viper Room and 1st few performances of HTNGU on TV she was just completely done

The Complicated bit was cool on TTSMU because it was her first tour and obviously her biggest hit at the time, however I think nowadays that would be a big security issue. I don't blame Avril for not wanting to do that anymore, especially after what has happened the last couple of tours. On BST some girl jumped onstage during Fix You and on the AL Tour someone threw something onstage or something, plus there were other incidents we didn't know about that happened behind the scenes (remember the incident in London that she said made her fear for her life?) Yeah, probably better idea not to.
I do, however, think she could stand to be more original with some of the "games" she plays with the audience. She has done the He Wasn't "hands up, now down" game for like 3 tours in a row. The singing along with WTH "whoa oh oh" kind of fell flat. I do like it when she points the mic towards the audience in IWY to sing. But yeah, I think she needs some new things, and not just keep recycling old ideas from past tours. It's bad enough that the setlist never really changes, but recycling the same "games" and "moves" just makes it that much worse. Fans feel like they are just seeing the same show every year, and I've honestly never known any other artist to do that. Britney, Taylor, Miley all change up their tours every year.
I'd just really like to see something completely fresh and new from her on her next tour, whenever that might happen. That was something that I really loved about TBDTour, it was unlike anything she had done before, regardless of what some fans thought about it, at least it was fresh and different. IMO TBDTour is her best and most balanced tour- there were fun moments of dancing and jumping around, but also more stripped down moments with ballads and where she played instruments. It was mainly new material with the biggest old hits. The stage decoration was very colorful and unique and that was when she introduced the "games" like He Wasn't. I don't expect her to do a huge production with dancers, costumes, pyro, etc. like you'd find at a Taylor or Katy concert (especially since her last couple tours have been so low budget), but I want to see some creativity and like she really put thought and effort behind the show. Standing in front of a black curtain half heartedly strumming 3 chords on a muted guitar doesn't show thought or effort. Some combination of Bonez and TBDTour would be perfect, IMO.

I would love to see Avril play the piano again. Piano performances tend to be more intimate, plus we will actually be able to hear her play unlike some guitar performances. Some acoustic guitar performances would also be good.
To be honest, the main thing that I want from the next tour is that each concert isn't exactly the same. The AL tour was too predictable, the set list being the same pretty much every night other than a few song changes with HH, GYWYL, FF etc. and the outfits were the same most nights. It would be great to go and see her without knowing pretty much exactly what you're going to get.

I want to see her play drums more. Not because she's good at it. I just enjoy watching her have a good time. Is that so wrong?

Britney, Taylor, Miley all change up their tours every year. sadly there is a lot bands that have nearly the same show every year with just trading out the 3 new tracks from the new album. don't know anything about lip sync brittany other than a singer split half way thu brittany's set and people commented it was the same old dance moves. going to a taylor gig in august so i will see what the differences will be. Looking at miley's setlists they look rather static.
