I'm jealous of the fans who became fans earlier on in Avril's career than I did. I feel like I missed out, lol. I think I've spent countless hours doing anything and everything Avril-related to make up for the lost time though! Yeah, exactly! I started listening to Avril in January 2011 (with Sk8er Boi) and I was 17 at that time. Since then I was discovering more and more Avril songs. I became a stan in July 2013. I wish I knew Avril from the beginnig. Of course I can watch lots of her old videos and interviews and photos and everything, but I will never know what it would have been like to really experience the whole eras. It makes me sad. Yes it really was a great time things seem to be simpler then and Avril was EVERYWHERE so yeah it was fun especially when Under My Skin was out. Ah good times

In the summer of 2011 I discovered WTH and Smile, which got me into downloading all of Avril's songs without any reason; I was 14 at the time and obsessed with Avril So GL era for me, with GL being my favourite album from the beginning up until now

I mean all three of her albums before and one catchy song after the other and it never let up. I was like there was as much emotion like there was with the previous three. It kind of felt like she just put GL because she had to and for no other reason really.

It is also her only album where she had FULL creative control over every song and concept (save for the singles). Put GL and UMS together on shuffle and GL makes UMS sound immature, which is saying something since UMS is excellent. LG is also great, but Avril had little to do with it. TBDT and AL are shit IMHO

being from canada i heard about avril in 2002 on the radio with her single. i was 39 years old then. i heard avril on radio which was a lot back then and then in 2007 i watched the CBC show from Calgary, AB and still just listened/watched when she was on radio or tv. in march 2014 i was on facebook and a girl on my friends list send me a concert audience taped video of Don't tell Me and that is when i became more than just a casual listener and started to check out avril more listening to audience tapings. march 2014 is also when i joined bandaids which i heard about from girl on another fan forum and thought this would be the place to get all the avril news, music. in november 2014 i bought TBDT DVD and got the london 2004 audience taped DVD from a user on bandaids it was posted in a thread which i can't remember there S/N. in July 2015 i bought the girlfriend clear vinyl single and UMS CD.

At that time, Girlfriend was been playing all over Asia and I heard it. I really loved the song. When Youtube became more famous in 2009, I checked her other songs, and I'm With You really got me her fan

I remember it was 2007, and first song I ever heard of her was Sk8r boi. Yes I heard sk8r boi in 2007 lol. And then I forgot her I wasn't aware if she did even release any music after that but then it was 2011 and my cousin sent me "What the hell" and I was like is she Avril? Then he sent me the complete GL album and that made me her fan in a heartbeat. Later on I started to gain more knowledge about her like her previous music and stuff and downloaded her previous albums and then UNDER MY SKIN came into the scene and I was more obsessed of her and the obsession hasn't got over haha. So I'd assume the year I was obsessed was 2011 and I was 14.

I was 12. 2005 when I first saw her "My Happy Ending" performance in Bonez Tour DVD. I literally thought I would never find a song/performance as good as that.

The best Avril Lavigne albums have a good mix of rock and slower personal songs. I LOVE her slower songs but it has to be a mix or it gets boring that's what was great about LG UMS and TBDT it never gets old because theres a good mix of song types. GL while is quality I have to be sure not to listen to it too much or ill get bored of it so yeahh. just my 2 cents

I started listening before anything even came out- my friend's uncle worked in radio and would slip us the mix CDs of new promo tracks that were to be added to radio in the coming weeks and Complicated was on one of them and I fell in love with it straight away. Waited for the single to come out and then for Let Go to come out. I've been a bandaids member since its creation as a little yahoo group. Bless.
