I think the cover is better than what I was expecting from the description we got. Maybe not her absolute best cover but it’s something different and better than AL or HAW covers.

I would say I don’t really get the point of the balloons though. What do they have to do with why “love sucks”? The actual concept doesn’t really seem to match the album title or theme.

I somewhat agree about the balloons, that they look a little out of place. Although another member pointed out that maybe the balloons represent that she is supposed and expected to celebrate and be happy about love, but since her experience is that “love sux”, she’s just holding the balloons not really celebrating, hence her kinda careless expression looking away. I don’t know though but that made sense to me.

On another note - I’m loving the aesthetics of this era and these covers so far 😍 Looking forward to seeing the rest of the shoot.

As I said in the other thread, I think the shot itself is pretty cool, I dig it! But I'd definitely change the placement of the text (and most likely the font itself as well). It looks odd standing in that corner and it's just a little tacky looking imo. Something cleaner would probably look a lot better.

I still don't like Love Sux as an album title, but I'm sure I'll learn to live with it haha

Also I find it funny that once again the cover is kinda dark and serious despite it being a very fun and upbeat album according to her. She did the same with TBDT and with AL5, so I guess it's just her style. Come to think of it, she's looked pretty serious in every single album cover, eh

I actually really like the cover! I think it captures the idea she mentioned about the album kinda poking fun at her love life really well. And especially if the shadow looking like people kissing is intentional- it's brilliant. It's like she's sitting there moping about feeling sorry for herself as she stares on at happy couples

For me the balloons are being used as a metaphor, Avril's love life is the same as a party, everything is fine at the beginning, but what happens at the end of the party and the fun?

Loneliness, sadness, restlessness and you are left alone looking at nothing thinking where everything went wrong, reflecting to get out of it alone, only with those balloons that are now your only friends, (I guess that's what balloons are for).
And the person who noticed that the shadows were two people kissing, good eye, I had not noticed, I love this cover, the best since GL
