Wait, are US colleges totally different to ours? When do you do these SAT's and go to college?
In Scotland we go to... Primary School from 4/5 to 11/12 High School/Academy 12/13 - 16/17/18 Then we can go to College/Uni etc but by this time we've generally done all our english/maths etc
I went to college to music audio etc straight after high school and then several years later I went to another to study animal care, I didn't do any English or anything at college because I did all that at High School...?

We're still required to take English and math courses in college, despite what your major is, at least for the first year. If you're studying to be an English major or writer, obviously you have to take even more English based courses. And if you're studying to be a doctor or nurse, math teacher, or accountant, you'll have to take more math classes. It's not like they're teaching you basic arithmetic, they're usually advanced math courses like calculus. And depending what your major is, there are different requirements for what levels of math and English you need to have completed. I originally chose a Communications degree and would have been done with math after a few basic courses, but then I switched to Marketing and was required to take Calculus.

So I finally got to see Dalton in concert last night and also met him! I won't go into extreme detail about the show or anything because I know most people here are not very familiar with him or his music, so I'll just give a brief description of the experience. He played in a small club so it was a very intimate experience, which was nice. He played lots of new songs off his album that will be coming out early next year. I'm loving his new music and he was amazing live! He is a great performer and very interactive with the audience. He made lots of funny jokes and comments in between songs. I was the third person in line for the meet and greet and I wasn't sure how I was going to be around him, but I was surprisingly not really that nervous, just kind of giddy and excited to be talking to him. I handed my phone to his staff lady to take our photo and then he opened his arms for a hug. Then I handed him a rose because he likes roses. He said "Can I put it in my teeth?" and I said "You can do whatever you want, I don't care!" So he put it in his mouth and we took the photo. Then he said "Did I poke you?" because the end of the rose had kind of poked me in the cheek/head when we took the photo and I said "Yeah kind of, but it's ok - you can poke me if you want!" which I know sounds really weird now that I think about it but sometimes when you're in the moment you mean to say one thing and say something else. Then I asked him if he could sign my American Idol magazine which he did and then I gave him a big bag full of presents. The look on his face was priceless when he saw it! The bag had Spider Man on it, which is one of his favorite super heroes. He was all like "Oh wow!" like he couldn't believe it was all for him and then he opened his arms for another hug, so I got to have TWO hugs! Then he said the best thing ever. He goes "You're like the coolest person at this meet and greet" and I go "Well you're only like 3 people deep haha" and he said something like "It will probably stay that way though." So that was fun and such a nice comment! Unfortunately there wasn't time for him to actually open the gift and see what was inside, but I got him lots of stuff I know he'll like and I'm sure when he does get around to opening it that he'll be thrilled. After I gave him his gift the lady handed my phone back to me and we basically had to move the line along. I think I said "Great show, you did a great job" or something as I left and then my dad walked up just to shake his hand and said something like "Great show" and I turned to Dalton and I said "Oh, this is my dad, I think I've converted him into a fan!" and Dalton laughed and he apologized because there had been some technical issues with the equipment during the show but I said "Oh, it's not your fault" and then he had kind of moved on to the next person so I said bye even though I don't think he heard it and then my dad and I left the line. I think for $50 they could have allowed us to have a little more time with him and not feel like we're rushing, but all in all it was a great experience! I thought I was going to be nervous meeting him but I really wasn't that much at all, he is so kind and down to earth. He makes each person feel special and like they can have a special moment with him. I hope I get to see him in concert again soon! I adore him as much as I do Avril, so that should tell you how much he means to me! He's just the best. Here's my photo with him! And a few other photos of our meeting:

BogoGog24 How nice, you must be so happy right now! But ''important'' question, what was inside this Spiderman bag ? Anyway, funny how I did not even know he existed till you introduced him to us last year Now I feel like I do know him a lot.

BogoGog24 that's awesome!! It's cool that he's such a caring person in real life At least you really talked to him, I didn't really say much during my ETF meet and greet... I talked to Ashley Costello just because I shortly asked her for a picture the first time we saw her in concert so I wasn't as nervous - so the second time I really talked to her. But I guess that's just me, my nervousness gets the best of me most of the time

Anyway, funny how I did not even know he existed till you introduced him to us last year Now I feel like I do know him a lot. Yes! It was 2 days ago and I'm still on cloud 9 over it! In the bag I gave him 2 bath bombs from Lush (he loves them!), a purple giraffe stuffed animal (because his favorite color is purple and his fave animal is giraffes), a mug that says "Keep calm and love giraffes," a dual pack of his favorite eyeliner Maybelline Unstoppable (yes, he wears guyliner ), a limited edition Funko Pop white Deadpool keychain (his favorite superhero), a DVD of fan edits I made for him, and an 8 page handwritten letter. I definitely spoiled him haha! I think a lot of people on BA would enjoy his music, especially his older stuff, because it's pop/rock/punk/alternative like Avril. His new stuff is great though too. He's just an all around fantastic songwriter and performer, no matter what genre he sings. And of course as I mentioned, he's an amazing person too. He has a real dark, sarcastic sense of humor. If you like emo stuff, you may like him. Hell, I DON'T like emo stuff and I like him! BogoGog24 that's awesome!! I am glad for you. It is a really memorable event. For myself, I know for sure - I would never be able to meet with a beloved artist (Avril of course ) like that. Not in such situation. Too shy. But it's cool everything turned fun and not nervous. And the lady could hold the phone more accurately, then the photos would be clear. It's nice to read such things. You definitely fell in love with him.

How awesome must that be to meet one of your favorite artists One day I hope I could experience the same but with Avril instead , though I probably wouldn't say anything because I would be nervous as hell lol. BTW I would definitely bring a DSLR+tripod next time for a more clear photo.

You definitely fell in love with him. Haha I definitely am! I can't help it, he's kind of my ideal man. BTW I would definitely bring a DSLR+tripod next time for a more clear photo. We can't. I don't think venues allow you to bring tripods in because it disrupts the experience for others. And it was a relatively small place anyway. And for the M&G there wasn't a photographer or proper camera there, it was just one of his staff people taking the photos and we had to hand her our phones or cameras. There wasn't a proper setup or proper camera for any of it. I think the reason the photos turned out kind of blurry is just because the lighting in the venue was too dark. Otherwise iPhones take pretty good photos, so I don't think it's the camera or photographer that was the issue, just poor lighting.

It was mentioned in the E-mails they sent with time and place, it was noted that those things are forbidden.
