Does the album "Avril Lavigne Influences" exist? Taylor Swift should be in the list of "be influenced" Charli XCX's too And Kesha influence Avril a bit too. Hello Kitty Dunno if Kesha is influenced by Avril's TBDT or Kesha influences Avril Yeah man, it does exists. That's why I putted a picture of the backcover of that album. I would not say Kesha was a key influence on Avril's music, since Avril was first on the music scene than her. From what I remember at the time Kesha was a new artist on the scene, people labelled her as another Avril with a electro-dance-y twist. Well maybe because she worked with Dr. Luke. And Taylor Swift is on the list, check completely the post.

Demi Lovato has also said Avril influenced her. I don't have any direct sources but I know that Demi is a big fan of hers. I knew I was missing something! Thank you, yeah she was definitively influenced by Avril. On other hand is kinda funny to see Avril was influenced by heavier music mixed with soft music. And the people she influenced at first were like two worlds apparts: first, a bunch of teenage pop-rock acts that then became more into dance/electronic pop music; and second, those from a pop-punk band.

Even Ed Sheeran is influenced by Avril Lavigne.

I wonder if she still believes that *Goes on and records TBDTTo label Paramore as a band influenced by Avril just because they are female fronted, might be too much. They never cited Avril as their influences, and actually dissed her around 2010. Well, I think that's what most of her fans expected, at least those who left her after TBDT. And now it's too late for her to do that... I don't know if Paramore was directly influenced by Avril (Hayley mentioned she liked LG, though), but when Avril "sold out" they had a boost on their popularity. They were pissed that they (Hayley essentially) were compared to Avril, but I'm sure they liked the fact that a lot of Avril (ex) fans started to like them by the time "Avril wasn't Avril anymore".

I'm guessing he is meaning to say that he thinks Avril's music is emo, whiny, and bratty while Paramore's isn't. What a douchebag... I'm not sure but I remember reading that exact quote and believing it was not Williams who said it, but the interviewer

Lol, Williams can consider herself lucky that she had Avril paving her way...she wouldn't be where she is without Avril...and I remember that Paramore covered Sk8r Boi in one of their concerts. In all honesty, I think that Paramore members do like Avril and feel influenced by her but in their so-called "rock band" world saying you like Avril Lavigne is like shooting your own foot- so I wouldn't be surprised if they had tried pretend they don't have anything to do with her or even adopted a snobby "I don't like pop music" pose if necessary. They wouldn't be the first ones and will not be the last ones.

They wouldn't be the first ones and will not be the last ones. I don't think they would want to adopt that pose nowadays, since they got poppy with their last album (recognised by themselves). While their self-titled wasn't my cup of tea, I think it had the perfect balance to attract new fans (pop fans mainly) while keeping most of their old fans. They're one of the few artists who can perform on mainstream AND alternative music festivals, and that's something Avril couldn't really do even during her "rock days", much less after TBDT was released. Seeing all the influences the OP contains, you would think she would be more of a rock/alternative artist, but I don't think that's the case now. It would be curious to see which are her influences nowadays. I remember her saying her favourite band was Nirvana not too long ago.

That they know better than to come up with simple, cheap, repetitive lyrics like "Hey hey you you, I don't like your girlfriend".

Honestly this destroys the credibility of all those "musical influences" she claimed. #letgoeraquotes

Yes she does like Coldplay as well as Frank Sinatra.
I seem to remember Nancy Sinatra said she liked Avril. Britney Spears I think liked Avril's first album or something. And I think Ashley Tisdale too.
I don't know if there's any direct quotes but I think it's obvious Ashlee Simpson was quite inspired by Avril's music and image, whether it was intentional or not.

I saw an article that Spears loved "I'm With You", and when she collaborated with The Matrix, she said she wanted a song like that

Nicki Minaj have said that Avril Lavigne's music had helped her go through her darkest times when she was recording her music. The article exists on internet, but I forgot the keyword to google it.
