[SINGLE] Avril Lavigne feat Yungblud - I'm a Mess

As someone who is very much anti 'every single is a collab' I gotta say that I think this Avril/Yungblud collab has the potential to move the needle for Avril in a way that her ones with blackbear and MGK just couldn't. Even based on the snippet 'I'm a Mess' just has hit single written all over it (for me). And there is just such a positive energy that Yungblud and his fanbase possess that BB/MGK and theirs, um, don't. Both of those collabs seem a million years ago now. And that's a good thing.

I hope so! But Avril is also performing in Yokohama on Monday, November 7th and will probably hustle her butt to Japan over that proceeding weekend (maybe leaving on Friday even) and wants to have the new song out and in rotation before she goes. The first week 'I'm A Mess' is out Avril is going to be 16 hours ahead of LA time in Japan so posting to her socials to promote it and her tour is going to be a bit of headache for her I imagine (You can do it, Avril!)

If I'm not wrong she's releasing around when the uk charts start the tracking week. US charts end on Thursdays so the song will only have a few hours for the hot100 (it won't chart) but it could on the week after if the video comes out next friday and she gets some playlists support

Oh my word!!! She looks stunning! Excited for this! Agreed it looks different to Love Sux stuff...And also cutting hair like some people do after a break up... you know starting over, so fits the theme of after Love Sux like new beginning. If part of the Deluxe, I think it will have other themes included and the good side of love. I suspect a lot of songs then if so.

Maybe Avril hid the new hair cut under the extensions to not ruin the surprise? 🤔

Not that it matters, cuz I doubt Avril cares about charts + it’s not even on the same chart, but Rihanna is releasing new music this Friday, so maybe somehow that’s why???
