Ok unpopular opinion but I don’t like Yungblud, he's collabed with a couple other artists I like and I think those songs would be way better without him. I’m A Mess sounds really good from the preview so I’m hoping Yungblud only has one verse and leaves the rest to Avril.

I’m A Mess sounds really good from the preview so I’m hoping Yungblud only has one verse and leaves the rest to Avril. The snippet is definitely both Avril and Yungblud singing together and they sound great! I think this could be the best duet of Avrils' career so far tbh, their voices really seem to compliment each other. Avril also seems to be singing in a lower key than normal to match Yungbluds... Kinda Let Go vocal vibes?!? A few of her previous collabs the vocal pairings haven't been the best... Whilst as a whole I really like Flames, I do find the vocals quite jarring with Avril's high/screechy vocals against Mod Suns deep ones. |

I wouldn’t worry too much about YB’s presence on the track. You can already tell by the chorus that his voice is more like a backing track and that it doesn’t overtake Avril’s. He might have the first or second verse, and the rest will be more likely her and him doing backing.

Yungblud is an amazing artist. Saw him live earlier this year and it was insanely good. His energy, his devotion to his craft, his killer voice, his stage presence, the way he commanded the crowd - it was all incredible. He's the type of artist you see and immediately think to yourself "man, he was born for this!". There's no way of knowing yet how the song structure is going to be on their new collab, but I'd assume it's going to be kinda 50/50 with Avril taking more of the lead during the chorus. All her collabs on Love Sux were pretty evenly split if you think about it, so I'd imagine this new collab is going to follow the same path. Each one should have their own verse and the bridge will probably be some kind of back and forth between the 2 like Bois Lie and All I Wanted. I think their voices harmonize heavenly together, so I'm pretty excited to see what they came up with!  Also, in case you're curious, here's one of my fave performances ever of him covering the iconic "Life On Mars" by David Bowie at a Bowie tribute show. SO good. I urge you to watch this if you're unfamiliar with him. |

Or better, I don't like his voice, and in general I don't like British accent (sorry guys no offense) because they seem they talk having something in their mouths so with YB it's a mix of 2 things I don't like. I don't like his voice at all in the duet with I'm with You for example. Anyways, I think that he's a real artist and I respect him a lot for that, he seems real and sincere, very passionate about music, very "artist" and "artistic", so I'm very happy they collaborated! She's in the real alternative scene now and I like this |

With reference to the longer teaser, it does have a little country vibe from the choice of pattern and notes for the vocal. It's chill and not as dark UMS for sure.
I'm not a fan of his voice but he probably contribute to the song making in certain extent.

They're both using handcuffs in the single cover. I wonder if they are going with a police chase in the MV. It would be interesting to see avril in action, running and playing the bad girl in a music video again.
