I think this release would be even more special if she planned some sort of "revival" for these songs. I'm not sure how, but perhaps some lyric videos for the songs with never-before-seen pictures from each album/single or even releasing live versions of the songs from the tour. But I think that if they are planning to record the concerts, they will probably use it for the supposed documentary. By the way, having the documentary alongside the "GH era" would enhance everything. I really hope we'll get more than just the compilation if she plans to use this GH as an "era" as some of us are supposing...

Curious to check if it's just a coincidence that this is happening just 2 days before the CMA... the momentum is kind of suspicious.
Coming from Avril, anything is possible, including nothing but promoting the GH.

I had Call Her Daddy on the list of things she do for promo cause it's the next big thing now. I still dont know why tho. I saw a vid before they were popular and I couldn't stand the girls. I know it's just one now tho and heard she's always looking at her iPhone and throws soft ball questions. Some say people spill on the show. Idk but Avril in interviews is not my thing so y'all let me know how this goes. I hope there's more stuff what are we a week before the tour? It's about time she does promo. Tickets are still selling. BTW idk if you guys know this but Live Nation does a summer thing where tickets are $25 and Avril is on the list! Run, don't walk. It started last week. |

Iβve only ever listened to the couple of episodes Kelsea Ballerini did on Call Her Daddy and enjoyed them, but Kelsea did open up a lot (one of the episodes was just after her divorce) and had a lot of fun on the other episode. Avril is neither open or particularly fun in interview so.. weβll see lol. I never watch her interviews anymore cos theyβre so boring with the same recycled answers so Iβll await feedback here first  |

It could go either way. They could either get her to talk about more interesting stuff, or sheβs going to scratch the surface of every question and never truly get deep about anything. I donβt think sheβll get as open as some of the other guests. I recall the Zach Sang interview where she had a chance to talk about the new songs from HAW and she couldnβt even explain what they meant. Avrilβs just simply not good at interviews or talking about her own music beyond a really surface level discussion. I imagine theyβre only going to touch briefly on new music, like mention sheβs been in the studio, but sheβs likely going to mostly talk about the GH and the tour and what itβs meant to her to be in music this long or to have inspired a generation of artists, like pretty much all the same stuff she talked about during LS era.

Been reading y'all for a while. I'm going to see her this summer at St-Jean Sur Richelieu's festival (headliner). That's gonna be my first time at a huge festival also.. Any ideas what the setlist is gonna look like ? Can we really expect I'm A Mess, Nobody's Home or KHO ?! ^ UP. Also, i doubt there will be anything new being discussed, sadly... Why would it SUDDENLY be the case after all these years.. ? |

It's one of my favorite podcasts too! Honestly I'm SO excited for it because I listened to a lot of episodes where she's interviewing celebrities and not a single one was boring or shallow. Alex Cooper is really good in getting people to spill some tea and having deeper conversations with her guests. She also has an audience expecting a specific kind of content in her interviews with people and it seems like she's pretty serious about delivering that. There hasn't been a single person she didn't "crack" so I'm looking forward to the Avril episode. yeah now I'm wondering how she's gonna get out of this one lol because this isn't like a pod to talk about music or her long career the way she usually does. People spill on this pod like you said. I've only heard personal stuff come out of there interviews like Zayn has new music out and everything I've heard from this interview is about his personal life and the effects of 1D fame. It's not necessarily rainbows and sunshine content about careers like Avril likes to do so why did she decide to go on here? It's also her first real interview since the Mod/Tyga thing no? The closest thing we've gotten to a real interview was the magazine articles and the cute little promo package on ET Canada for the GH tour. You're right!!! this is the first official sit down interview she has had since Mod Tyga thing. Thats crazy to think about. NGL a part of me hope the host brings it up r maybe talks about relationships at one point. But at the same time i dont want Avril being too uncomfortable. Super excited for tomorrow. I also think Avril wants to be more private. Of course, she clearly has a more critical opinion about this, like feminism, politics, and other controversial topics etc. I remember at the very beginning of her career when she criticized Bush's politics and posed with a Dixie Chicks shirt. Recently she also displayed a guitar with "F*ck Fascism" written on it in that small documentary for LS, joined the campaign for Americans to register to vote, and defended the BLM movement. She clearly has a more critical and progressive perspective on things, but for some reason, she doesn't want to share it explicitly... she junts indicates what she thinks. I think there are some reasons why; one of them is that she avoids these topics because she might feel pressured or uncomfortable discussing them in public. Another reason could be that she wants to maintain a certain level of privacy and separation between her personal beliefs and her public image. It's possible that she has seen people face backlash or criticism in the past for speaking out on these issues, like her ex-husband Deryck, who was threatened with deportation. Finally, maybe she feels she could get nervous or anxious and feel like she wouldn't address them properly. It happens all the time in our lives. Sometimes we have opinions about things but are not comfortable expressing them. Even when it comes to her music, she barely talks about sex or other similar subjects. That may give the impression that she's flat and without an opinion, but I don't think it's true. Maybe she's just uncomfortable or hesitant to express herself in certain ways. Iβm kinda glad she steers away from politics and controversial subjects. I understand why some famous people use their voices for certain things but IMO nothing worse than a political popstar shoving their opinion down your throat i.e Bono back in the day. I think nowadays celebrities are at such a risk of being cancelled. I think thatβs partly why she isnβt so vocal about things. I also want to add, something I noticed from her instagram commebts is a lot of her fans are kinda conservative. I remember her black lives matters post and talking about it and the comments were like Iβve been a fan for 18 years and now Iβm not all lives matter screw you Avril trump 2020. There were many comments about that. And that was the first time she said something politically since that Bush comment I believe. So I think that kind of drove her off of speaking up about things. I was kinda surprise she didnβt say anything about Roe V Wade being overturned. |

Your right! I didnβt notice Mod was there. So that has to be very awkward - she actually had such a strong crew to produce her sound for LOVE SUX which is the best thing she put out in years and nowβ¦itβs like sheβs lost that team. Hopefully not the case though! Hopefully not but it happens every time so I bet the bridges are burned Well TBF, Mod and MGK are besties sothat makes it extremely awkward probably. But yeah, UNFOLLOWED!!!! |
