Well after the latest paparazzi pictures of Avril, the reactions have been quite focused on 2 things. 1. Are she dating that guy. (Well no matter what good for her, she are out with people!)
But i want to focus on the number two 2. She was showing her nipple.
So i just want to know the general opinion from bandaisers:
Is it ok to show off your skin? If showing a nipple is it a bad thing/humiliating? And why is it that it gets so much attention?
Note:
This thread is about the general fact. Not Avrils appearance in L.A. But that got me thinking about the subject.
Seeing comments on twitter saying "Please don't become Miley"
And what i'm trying to say: There is noting wrong about being confident to show off whatever body part you like. Nor is it wrong to be confident in your clothes showing barley nothing.

IMO? Yes. It's just flesh. We all have it. Depends whose nipple it is. Not everyone is as liberally-minded as I am, and I get why some people would be absolutely mortified if they saw their own nipple on the internet. I guess we have nothing better to talk about? :noidea:

If it's accidental, it's not showing off.

Well - Who haven't seen a nipple? The guys are doing it all the time. The look the same. So just because it's more fat around it it's not ok? And to show of literary all except your nipple is totally cool .... especally on the red carpet or in fhm. But accidentally on the street? CODE RED!!!! And to see different body parts, it is so natural that it is wired that there is so embarrassing.

If it's accidental, it's not showing off. I meant in general. Just brought the subject up, because of that

I think it is wrong to show your nipple anywere in public, as well as showing to much flesh around it as In Wonderland said about red carpets or whatever. If you think that it's ok why won't you go outside just naked? Why waste time on trifles? Do people have no shame at all nowadays?

I would say in this case, that the stupid society is the biggest problem. She taught us to be ashamed if we show our nipples/genitalia/booty etc., which is complete nonsense to me. Like Harvey said, it is just skin, we all have it, it is completely natural. There is no sensible reason, to say that showing your arm is ok, but showing your nipples is not ok. Of course, it is "weird" to us to show our skin/nipples whatever, most of us are raised that way, because society told us that it is wrong.
Hands down, the society in general is one of the most stupid, but also one of the most powerful things in the world. Very sadly...

I voted for I don't care.
I'm just gonna comment where it pertains to Avril specifically... I really think it was accidental. I'm amazed people are really freaking out over something so small and that was most likely an accident. I doubt she did it for attention. Showing a nipple is not shocking, everyone has them. Hell, same thing happens to me, not in public, but my bra strap slips sometimes and even though I'm not wearing a see through shirt so no one sees my nipple, it basically falls out of my bra and I have to fix it. It doesn't mean I'm trying to show it on purpose.
Now I do think there's a line between showing some skin and crossing the line of decency. I don't think it'd be appropriate for everyone to walk around without underwear on and show penis/vagina. Boobs are sort of different. If men are allowed to walk around shirtless, why can't women? It baffles me how men love to see breasts but they have an outrage when a woman breastfeeds in public. I don't get it.
I also think it depends on the time and place. It wouldn't be appropriate to go to school, work, church, or a funeral dressed in the same clothes you'd wear to go clubbing. There's a proper time and place to show skin and other times when it wouldn't be appropriate.

I voted for yes, it is okay. If someone feels comfortable showing off a bit of skin then they should feel free to do so, of course there are certain times where it would be inappropriate but using Avril for example, I don't have an issue with someone having their nipple on show (guys do it all the time) through a sheer top whilst out in public, it's not as though she was shoving her boobs in our faces. As In Wonderland mentioned, we see it on the red carpet and in photoshoots all the time so it's not as though we aren't used to seeing it on a public platform.

Judging by these pics I doubt that Avril even noticed that her boob was uncovered. It just happens sometimes. Something slips, something uncovers.. especially wearing something like that. Anyways, I think people should wear what they feel comfortable with. I agree that it's society's fault.
