I have plans to see it as soon as it gets released to watch at home. I'm not a fan of cinemas. And i still haven got around to read the book. I have read Alice In Wonderland in norwegian and i am still trying to get through the English version which had taken me 6 years so far... It's quite difficult language to understand correctly. (A little embarrassing taken my username ) But from judging from the trailer it didn't make me want to watch it. Nor Pink's contribution.

I missed it as normal. We had it 'normal' as 2D in the first week but now... I do not want to watch it in 3D, the prices for 3D movies are too high, I cannot afford to go to the cinema and always pay for 3D, the tickets to get to town and in town to the cinema... That sucks. I agree 3D is terrible too, I feel like it would hurt my eyes or give me a headache or make me feel nauseous or something. Perhaps you can buy it when it comes out on DVD or rent from iTunes/Amazon Prime/Netflix? I'm planning on doing it that way

I saw it a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. I agree with Andrea, though. The first movie outshines the second one. But I loved the new characters that were introduced and the fact that the characters from the first film appear a decent amount of time, which I wasn't expecting. One of the things that got me most excited about this sequel was the fact that all the main cast, which is AMAZING and very talented, was returning for this one. I was expecting to see less of these characters (the red queen, the white queen, the animal characters) but on the contrary, they got enough screen time. It was stunning visually, and the 3D was good as well. The storyline was okay, not great, but the message of the movie is pretty heartfelt ; and I'd be lying if I said I didn't shed a tear in some emotional parts of the movie. I think it was an extraordinary great film in terms of cast, characters, and visual effects, and a good storyline. Will definitely watch it again when it comes out on Blu-ray!

I do like that there was some continuity from the first film, like continuing the story of Alice working on a ship, what happened with Hamish after she turned down his proposal, etc. A lot of films would have forgotten details like that or just ditched them entirely.

I'm still kind of sad she didn't write a song for it but I'm watching this week, can't wait

On the one hand I wish Avril had been asked to do another song because I think she did a great job on the first film, but on the other hand, I feel like if she had tried to recreate the original song or whatever it wouldn't have been as good as Alice was.

At the end of the day, Avril still read the book, it would hardly be worse than Pink. After I watched the movie, I still think Just Like Fire doesnt match the movie. The starting point which is radio-friendly thing and the way of projecting Pink's imagine has screwed up the meaning of soundtrack/theme song

Exactly. Pink's song is good, but it's far from capturing the essence of Alice. Avril's song, on the other hand, had that darkness and depth to it: it fit perfectly with the movie's tone and theme in general. It wasn't necessary for her to say "I found myself in wonderland" for someone to actually relate that song to the movie. Yes, Avril did her homework a lot better than Pink in that way. She's so talented and is an extraordinary artist, I want to see so much more of that Avril.

TBH I'm not even sure I would say Pink's song is good as a song by itself, let alone for this film. And I agree it doesn't fit the tone of the film at all. Avril captured the dark gothic feel that Tim Burton is known for. I remember her saying they showed her clips from the film when she was designing Abbey Dawn pieces (she also did a great job creating clothes inspired by it too). I wonder if they actually showed Pink any clips from the film before asking her to write/sing a song for it. There is just such a huge disconnect. Even the lyrics/meaning doesn't really seem to match the film. It would have made more sense if she wrote a song about time since that was the obvious theme and what the entire movie revolved around, even having an entire character based on it. It's just incredibly strange.

It would be a huge fail to not show any clip to the artist who was gonna make music for the movie in order to promote the movie...At least I know Narnia 3 did do it~ Not that the thing is impossible, I just doubt if they want to boost the sales ~

She was inspired by Alice (character).

The only thing that really connects to the film for me is when she says something about "no one like me" because Alice is very independent, etc. But that's all IMO. Personally I think a song about time or the past or whatever would have made more sense and been a better fit for the film.
