Such a bad day for the world, and now there's been a bomb scare in London.
They won't win.

It is truly heartbreaking and sad. But what really shocks me as a Lebanese person is the attention this tragic event gets, but the ones that occur in Lebanon are more or less ignored. I think this is the result of a shallow media coverage. On Thursday, ISIS sent 4 bombers to Beirut, 2 bombings occured, one was caught, and the fourth bomber was killed before doing the crime. About 50 casualties and 70 injured. What also hurts is that people are moved by this tragedy but not moved by the millions of tragedies occuring every single minute in other countries. I'm not pointing out that certain lives are more important than others, but I demand for equal importance instead. In the lights of the situation, there is no doorway for an escape from terrorism as we can see that 2 separate countries were victims of the same criminal within just about 24 hours, if not less. I don't know how, but it's time to end this massacre before this massacre literally ends us. #PrayforBeirut #PrayforParis Well there's your answer. While most of us are aware that some countries are deeply troubled corners of the world, it's hard to express condolences for specific tragedies that you haven't even heard about. The world didn't give me its support when my Dad died, and that's perfectly understandable.
Which is even more tragic.

I'm into tears when I think about this. I just dont understand what is going on in the world right now. That the terror comes so close makes me really afraid and I feel so sad for everyone that has lost family or friends because of this terror. I still dont really know what to say...

It's certainly tragic in its own way, and I guess it's a failing of mainstream news outlets when they don't give these things equal coverage.

The reason there is more coverage for Paris is probably because things like this rarely happen there. Reportedly this was the worst attack on Paris since WWII.
Regardless I think it's inappropriate to be complaining about how much news coverage a story is or isn't getting when many people have lost their lives and Japan and Mexico are currently facing terrible storms right now. In the end, many people lost and are losing their lives because of terrible acts of violence and natural disasters, it's a sad and scary day for the world and we should all just express condolences for them. Save the topic for another day, now is really not the time nor place for social commentary.

Save the topic for another day, now is really not the time nor place for social commentary. He started it! I know, I'm just saying in general this should be about the victims. All over Twitter I see political and religious remarks, I just saw an article about an actress from Orange Is the New Black tweeting to pray for the whole world and she got hate tweets because people thought she was taking something away from Paris. Tragedy is happening all over the world, no one tragedy is more or less important than another. Lives were unnecessarily taken and that's all that should be focused on at the moment IMO. I think it is very disrespectful to turn the attention on to anything else. Anyway, Avril's message was very nice and well written. I knew she would write something anyway, but considering she is fluent in French now and lived there for a time it makes her message all the more special and meaningful. And what a chilling gesture for the Eiffel Tower to shut off its lights. All I can say is that all of this is just sad, upsetting, and heartbreaking.

Horrific and extremely frightening. It's such a shame what horrible things are currently going on around the world. I wish the entire world could just stay at peace, but that will probably never happen. Such a shame. Nothing but blood and murders for no reason really.

Agree with bogo- this thread should just be condolences to the people who lost their lives + families affected; as said in the red lettering @ OP this shouldn't turn into a debate or steer the course away from the fact over 100 people died and that also this is the Paris thread- if you feel that not enough awareness is not being brought to other corners of the world you are free to make a thread about it.

I lit a candle tonight for all affected by last nights terror. Not much more than a thought. And it breaks my heart to read the news, when the truth are revealed. A life taken is one to many.
