The past two months I've been listening a lot to PVRIS and Purity Ring, two bands I've been kind of obsessed with ever since I discovered them. PVRIS is an American rock band from Lowell, Massachusetts formed by members Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, Alex Babinski, and Brian MacDonald. I love PVRIS i think they are a great band. I don't know about Purity Ring. I also listen to the band of the girlfriend of Lyndsey, Alexa San Roman. "Love, Robot".

Just noticed that I reached a milestone in my music collection... 2500+ albums (there are a few singles, but the majority are albums and EP's)

Haha, I know how you feel, I'm fighting right now with F major. Keep practicing man and in a little time we'll be able to do it without effort You are both having the exact same problem. You both probably learned to play the E major and the A minor (in the open position) using the wrong fingers. You are using fingers 1, 2 and 3 or the index, middle and ring fingers. I teach my students to use fingers 2, 3 and 4 or middle, ring and pinky fingers, to play these chords. If you had learned "my way", you would have no problem moving up one fret and playing F major and B minor just by barring the first fret. Let's talk about the F major. Most beginner chord books would have you trying to hold down the b and e strings with the tip of your index fingertip on the first fret, your middle finger on the second fret of the g and the ring finger on the third fret of the d string. Then, they have you only strumming only the d, g, b and e strings. Try this. Play the open E major using fingers 2,3 and 4. Now, with the same fingers, play the same chord shape up one fret and barre the first fret with your index finger. With a little practice, I believe you will find this easier. And, if you are doing it right, you can strum all six strings, making for a fuller sound. Having mastered that, you can now play that same chord shape up and down the fret board making all the major chords. Now, play the same chord shape anywhere on the fingerboard lifting your middle finger and you are playing all the minor chords. The same applies to the A minor. It's the same shape as the E major. Use fingers 2, 3 and 4, move up one fret, barre the first fret and you have B minor. Move that whole pattern anywhere on the fingerboard and you are playing minor chords. Thx for the advices Uncle, really interesting that way of play the chords. I'll try to do what you say if I don't see improves but I think it's just a matter of time. In fact, my problem with the F major is only on the acoustic guitar (I can do it on the electric without problems) so I think it's a matter of getting used to the strings.
