Sometimes, simple things are what make a song beautiful. I like Goodbye even though it's repetitive.

UMS is my favorite album, but I'm not one of the fans who says that UMS is mature or is her best album; I just like that album's style and genre the best. But I would hardly say that UMS is full of boy drama!Agreed. While Let Go mostly shows a rebellious teenage-Avril with teenage- problems, Under My Skin reveals a more serious, growing up Avril. There are more questions and less arguments, more feelings than actually stories and that makes it appear more mature, but only in comparison.

But I would hardly say that UMS is full of boy drama!I was agreeing with you until you said this. Practically every song is about the timeless problem of lousy boyfriends - and when she's not complaining about that, she's lamenting some other angsty teenager thing. I love UMS; it's my favourite Avril album by far. But lyrically, I agree with Bogo insofar that LG and TBDT are much more creative and interesting.* *Yes, I'm generalizing here because I don't want to spend the whole morning analyzing every song on these albums, especially in a thread where we're not supposed to do that. Yes, I know that LG has a lot of angst, TBDT has a bit of it too. But hopefully my point is clear.

So happy to see HDIF getting a better ranking. It's a beautiful song - even though the lyrics seem simple, they have such a special meaning and message, the melody and instrumental is so beautiful and her voice is amazing.
+ Goodbye should be a lot higher.

Foremost, I just want to say that I acknowledge your opinion and you have all my respect for it. Simply for me, I think I have to disagree with you on this one. I always thought her creativity and originality were balanced between LG and throughout UMS. It wasn't just the lyrics it was the structure of the whole composition of the unforgettable sounding and the gripping instrumentals, she was just simple but very, impelling the whole thought of UMS. The only thing I appreciate about TBDT that she was trying and experiment with new sounds I did like that, but it didn't pay off in the end because it didn't leave a mark it didn't... Have that great impact. But it left a mark on you so that's great to hear. It was mostly to light for me somewhat immature, just too girly. But that is just my prospectives and opinion like I appreciate yours and everyone else's.

Avril is no Laura Marling. The lyrics and melodies may be hers, but the composition and producing are not.

The results keep surprising me... Personally, I believe that ABO should have been higher in ranking as well as Naked and Losing Grip. It really surprises me that Best Years of Our Lives is much higher in ranking than them.

Most of the songs in the 30s went up this year. I'm glad that those songs went up, and I think the three songs that went down deserve it.
