Die Hard is definitely one of them - and it's a Christmas movie in my mind, I don't care what the naysayers say. I also love Bad Santa, and it's nice to meet someone else who appreciates that film.
Edward Scissorhands is another great 'alternative' Christmas movie, made back when Tim Burton had an imagination as a filmmaker.
As for more traditional Christmas movies, I've always liked the 1999 version of A Christmas Carol, the one with Captain Jean Luc Picard Patrick Stewart. Though we all know the story and you could watch any version of that classic tale and you're basically watching the same film, even if one of them was a musical.
