I was just browsing some interviews with Filip Jančík - the young violinist from Fly. He is from Slovakia so you wouldn't understand the sources anyway, but here's what he said: He's like the luckiest street violinist. He was playing his violin on the street when a woman asked him for a call card. He gave it to her and a few minutes later he received an email offering him to work with Avril Lavigne. The next day he spent a few hours in the studio, but they didn't know what his part in Fly should sound like. He had a flight ticket home for the next day and he thought this was the end of his collaboration. But when he came home, he closed himself in the studio and after 4 days he sent 60 versions of his part to Avril's management and they said it was perfect.
His greatest experience was meeting Avril itself. He was pleasantly surprised because Avril knew his creation, videos and even praised his talent and production. 'It was a great honor for me and enormously encouraged me to work on myself more. I see that what I do makes sense and even a singing star, such as Avril Lavigne, likes it. "said Filip to the media.
Before he could listen to the final version of Fly, he had to sign many legal documents. Filip said he couldn't even tell Avril's husband about it.
He didn't get any royalty for the song nor performing because it was released to help the handicapped. However he said his collaboration with Avril changed his life completely. He said that ever since Avril mentioned him as 'a sensation', everyone sees him as a sensation even though his talent is still the same. They asked him to work on Avril's Christmas album too! (But he said it in May, so maybe it was supposed to be released this Christmas and it's actually never going to happen..)  |

Thanks for posting and translating the original article. It's always nice to read such stuff about Avril and how she helped other people's careers.  Maybe Epic said NO to the Xmas album, we want a studio album first... |

Good to hear that Avril has helped get his name out there. I hope she'll have him collaborate on a future song or project with her where he can actually earn some money. So if he didn't receive a royalty because it was a charity song, I wonder if that means Avril or the other writers didn't either?
The Xmas album thing is interesting. Well it's possible Avril had it in mind to be released maybe by Xmas 2016. We knew she had mentioned wanting to do it, well for years, but the most recent mention was People in April 2015. But she had confirmed she wasn't working on anything right now, it seems she is writing original music for a possible 6th album right now. And from her chat with a fan we know she said she wants to begin working on album 6 in 2016. So there are really a few possibilities for how this could work:
A) Album 6 will come first, then maybe Xmas album in between 6th and 7th album
B) She can throw together a small Xmas EP instead of a full album and release that as a filler before album 6
C) She can release a small EP of original music followed by a Xmas EP in 2016, instead of trying to do full albums
I don't know the details of her contract so I don't know if EPs count or not. Like maybe if her contract states 2 studio albums that 2 EPs could equal 1 studio album or if the contract ends after a certain amount of years. We will just have to wait and see what Avril says.

I watched one more short interview with him from Septemeber and when they asked him about other collaborations he said Avril is working on her new album and he's working on 2 songs so far, maybe more in the future and he's also in contact with Miley Cyrus' management right now...

60 versions, I really want to hear, wow, that is impressive!!! I like Avril to work with low-profile people because it is way more special and unique IMO
So, Christmas album did planned to release, kind of sad Avril couldn't make it
Besides, I think I'm getting tired to hear guitar on typical Avril songs as she seriously hasn't being developed so much ever since TBD, it would be surprising to hear other instrumentals, I seriously can't wait to hear those songs he worked on but all goes to the label's decision, fuck them :/

I hope that the songs he did will make it on the album. So I guess if she chose him to play on 2 of the songs then she must already be kind of deep in the process, at least laying down demos of some songs I guess? I just hope that she doesn't do all this work and then Epic rejects them. That's getting really old now and her fans are sick of it, as I'm sure Avril also is. I'm sure what she's come up with is fine, if it's anything like Fly, it's not exactly her best work, but anything is still better than Martin Johnson. |

It sounds to me like he was asked to work on a Christmas album if she happened to start one. I don't think that a Christmas album was fully in the works. It just sounds like someone asked Filip, that if Avril eventually began making a Christmas album, would he be willing to contribute.
