Oh boy, only ten? This will be rather difficult...
1. Jesus of Suburbia - Green Day It says home is where your heart is but what a shame, cause everyone's heart doesn't beat the same. This song is simply a masterpiece. It's the Bohemian Rhapsody of the 21st century. The song is rather lengthy at 9 minutes and 8 seconds, but those 9 minutes are pure perfection. Jesus of Suburbia introduces Jimmy, the protagonist of American Idiot, and tells the story of his departure from his suburban life to the city. The combination of raw pop punk rage, slower alternative rock, and the piano ballad near the end of the song makes this song my number one favorite.
2. Give Me Novacaine - Green Day Give me a long kiss goodnight and everything will be all right. Tell me that I won't feel a thing. An underrated, yet really good track from American Idiot. This song is about our beloved protagonist, Jimmy, as he struggles to adjust to his new urban life, hoping to numb the stresses away with some (literal or metaphorical) novocaine. The transition and contrast between light acoustic and electric guitar has never failed to give me the chills. And that guitar solo! Truly epic. By the way, if you like this song, I highly recommend listening to the Broadway musical version. It's like discovering the song all over again.
3. Complicated - Avril Lavigne Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated? A pop classic, of course. A catchy tune with some catchy lyrics, this song is the definition of a chart-topping pop hit. I have heard this song on the local radio many times, but haven't really thought about it or its artist until a year ago when I started listening to Avril frequently.
4. 21 Guns - Green Day One, twenty one guns, lay down your arms, give up the fight. One of the more well known Green Day songs. Strangely, this song gives me memories of playing Modern Warfare 2 on the Xbox as my older brother would blast this song on the speakers in the background. Amazing instruments, lyrics, and an epic guitar solo.
5. Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavigne He was a sk8er boi, she said "see ya later boi". This is how it all began, the song that got me into Avril! I forgot how I discovered this song, but the fact that the same person who sung Complicated also sung this song lured me to it. I listened to it and thought, "This song's actually really good. I'll listen to it again". Before I know it, I racked up a couple hundred plays on Sk8er Boi according to Last fm. Seriously, this song is ridiculously catchy.
6. Whatsername - Green Day Forgetting you but not the time. As the last song of American Idiot, Whatsername serves as the closing curtains for the entire album. And it does a damn good job at it. The start with a rhytmic, mellow ballad leading to raw, power and emotion driven rock serves to make this song great. Not to mention that ending which gives me the chills everytime. Speaking of endings...
7. My Happy Ending - Avril Lavigne All this time you were pretending, so much for my happy ending. Another hit from Avril. I don't relate to the lyrics, but I love the instruments and vocals in it. An emotion filled rock ballad that I find myself listening to several times in a row in repeat. I also love the chorus!
8. Welcome To The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance And though you're dead and gone believe me, your memory will carry on. The emotional piano ballad introduction in this song is amazing as well as the transition to rock. If you can't tell, I'm a sucker for contrasting transitions in songs! The instruments and lyrics are phenomenal, as well.
9. Time - Pink Floyd No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun. I love the underlying meaning of this song, how time is slowly ticking away. You can chase it, but that would be futile as you would end being both tired and older. The guitar solo is epic, as well.
10. Handlebars - Flobots I can ride my bike with no handlebars. The meaning of the lyrics are phenomenal. Humanity's limitless potential and innovations being used for world domination and destruction instead of creativity and prosperity. I usually never listen to hip hop, but this song is an exception.

I made a top list 9 months ago but my musical tastes have since changed. Here's my updated top ten: 1. Jesus of Suburbia - Green DayIt says home is where your heart is but what a shame, cause everyone's heart doesn't beat the same.
Even with Green Day's new album, this is still my number one favorite song of all time. I've listened to it a good thousand times, according to last.fm. 2. Revolution Radio - Green DayWe are Revolution Radio, Operation No Control.
My favorite track from their newest album. Fast paced with an awesome guitar solo. 3. Forever Now - Green Day If this is what you call the good life, I want a better way to die.
A 7 minute long, three part epic of a song with a reprise to the first track, Somewhere Now. Basically the second coming of Jesus (of Suburbia) in RevRad. Truly epic. 4. Still Breathing - Green DayAs I walked out on the ledge, are you scared to death to live?I made sure to play this song after taking the SAT. Cause after all the studying and cramming and getting a good score, I'm still alive. I'm still breathing. In my opinion this song has the most powerful bridge EVER. 5. Outlaws - Green DayWe destroyed suburbia.
This is the Whatsername of RevRad. Lighter in the beginning with a crashing ending. With a fucking awesome guitar solo as well. 6. Bouncing Off The Wall - Green DayConcrete dream, hey.
A short, fast-paced, catchy song in RevRad. I find myself listening to this song several times in a row on repeat. 7. Complicated - Avril LavigneWhy'd you have to go and make things so complicated? You obviously can't forget the song that made Avril famous. I still listen to this song to a rather unhealthy frequency. 8. Tomorrow - Avril LavigneTomorrow is a different day.
An underrated song from Let Go. A slower, lighter song with a lot of "yeahs". Strangely this song reminds me of Elite Dangerous CQC cause I would listen to it a lot while playing CQC, maybe because I felt like it increased my KDR 9. Last Stand - FTL: Faster Than Light SoundtrackOkay this is a weird one, a track from a video game soundtrack. This is my favorite out of the entire FTL soundtrack. You arrive at the final sector, in your crudely welded together hunk of metal which could be called a ship, ready to face the flagship when this track starts playing. Ominous, epic, and with a sick drop. I don't mind being obliterated by the flagship because I get to listen to this track. It makes me want to drive a tank, or captain a battleship, or fly a battlecruiser, or pretty much do anything that makes me feel empowered. 10. November Rain - Guns N' Roses It's hard to hold a candle in the cold November Rain.A 9 minute long song with not one, but TWO epic guitar solos! I just love this song.

oooh okay this sounds fun to try. I don't expect you guys to know much of these but yeah..:
1- The Hands That Thieves - Streetlight Manifesto ( it's an undiscovered masterpiece..especially the ending.i'm in love.with this song.)
2- Somewhere in the Between- Toh Kay (I could write down 90% of his songs .. it's all about his gentle little voice and his guitar finger picking)
3-Stay On Your Feet-MxPx (Empowering lyrics, it’s beautiful)
4- Missionary’s Downfall- Planet Smashers (The Planet Smashers always make me smile, they are super fun)
5 -Pierre Lapointe- Au Bar des Suicidés (but the piano version! very important. His voice is everything.)
6- 12:59 Lullaby - Bedouin Soundclash (this song is like a cozy hug)
7-Walls -Big D & The Kids Table It's all about the horns.
8-Peace Sign- Lights (the original one as much as the acoustic version with Coeur de Pirate )
9- Count Your Bruises– Flatliners
10-Relient K – The Best Thing (well...i chose this song but there's plenty. Relient K has many cute songs.)
Okay, I could do this thing tomorrow and the list would totally change but as of now ,this is what it is...until I change it again in five minuts ...

Wow! It was such a hard decision! I'll probably regret not putting some of my all-time favorite songs in this list, right after posting it... I only included one song from each artist, though I love a lot of their songs. ( I CAN't do that. Sorry! I'm gonna mention some more in each one's description!) So, here is my top ten (+14!): 1. Evanescence - My ImmortalThis is just the best song I have ever listened to. It's flawless. It never gets old! I can always feel the pain in Amy Lee's voice. They've released some other great songs too, including Everybody's Fool, Lithium , Bring Me To Life, ... 2. Archive - Again You should put your headphones on, Lie down in the dark, close your eyes, and play this song! 17 minutes and you won't get tired of it. Archive is one of my favorite bands. Another long song similar to this one is Lights and it's really beautiful. Other songs: F*** You, Hatchet , End of Our Days, Stick Me in My Heart,... 3. Anathema - One Last GoodbyeIn my dreams I can see you, I can tell you how I feel Such a sad song . It makes me remember the pain of losing a loved one and all that I've been through. Other great songs from this amazing band: Lost Control , Untouchable Part 1 & Part 2, ... 4. 30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill I could relate to this song during a time of my life when I was in love with someone and he didn't really like my type. so I was always trying to change myself and I hated myself during that time. And suddenly I just realized that it's pointless and he's literally killing me. This song totally described my pain and anger. I love it because I love myself and I don't wanna pretend to be someone else and I'm glad that I've moved on. Another great song from this band is "A Beautiful Lie", I wasn't sure which one I liked more. During the time I described, my mom got cancer ( she healed fortunately ) but I didn't know if she was gonna be ok. I didn't have any friends back then either. So the only thing I could do was to lie down in my bed at nights listening to this song and pretend everything was ok and nothing has happened. And it was such a beautiful lie to believe in. 5. Avril Lavigne - Nobody's Home Well, you all know this one can't describe how much I love it. 6. Linkin Park - Numb being a huge fan of LP, it was impossible for me to pick one of their songs. But this one really helped me find myself when I first realized I'm always doing whatever everyone tells me to do, wearing whatever everyone likes, and also listening to pop songs everyone around me liked. I must say my life actually began when I decided not to care about everyone's opinion and be myself. 7. Coldplay - Another's Arms Like the other artists I mentioned, I love many of Coldplay's songs and it's hard to mention only one of them, but since their other songs are more popular I'm gonna go for this one. It's about someone who is in a relationship but still loves his ex, and they perfectly describe the situation and feeling. 8. Taylor Swift - Last Kiss
I love Taylor Swift and in my opinion this is her best song ever. Everything about it is just amazing. 9. Greenday - Boulevard of Broken Dreams I can't stop loving it. I can't stop loving Greenday! " Wake Me Up When September Ends" and " 21 Guns" are my other favorites. 10. Infected Mushroom - Becoming InsaneTotally different than the other songs I mentioned above. Some people get drunk, some use drugs, I listen to Infected Mushroom ! I'm becoming insane insane insane If you liked it, their other great songs like this are " Heavyweight" and " Sa'eed" Sorry I wrote too much, and I'm feeling that I made too many grammar mistakes lol. I just could not write only 10 songs -_- hope someone reads it and finds a new favorite song

Ok, guys... We all know The Beatles and Elvis Presley were insanely good, the same with MJ, but I think sometimes their songs are maybe overrated (SOME of them, others are really among the best ones in History) and overshadow songs that shine like no other thing. This is a sincere list, but in some positions I tried to get away from the obvious. Hope you like my interpretation.
1. Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
His version of the song is the best thing ever, he was such a genius!
2. David Bowie - Heroes
Everytime this song comes up, I start tearing up. Bowie could get you right in the feelings, and this song is what turned him into the legend he is.
3. Fleetwood Mac - Landslide
I'm not a fan of country-ish music, but this is SO deep, SO real. It's up there with the best songs ever recorded.
4. Foals - Spanish Sahara
Foals is the best band of the last 10 years, and they've already released their career masterpiece, that one song that the band is probably never matching in quality, love and intensity again. This is the song that hits me the hardest of all the ones in the list. The simple way it was written, with just 4 chords througout the whole song, while being complex with all the build-up, the rhythm changes and the climax just make it almost too beautiful to be truth.
5. Pearl Jam - Black
Another intense song. Pearl Jam made one of that songs that everyone stops what they're doing to hear it, and it is "Black". It's really sad, but it's beautiful above it all.
6. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
There's no need to explain. It's like the "personification" of how to do music. They are teachers in this song, and they show all their skills in this song that is the most magical trip in the world.
7. Pat Benatar - Love Is A Battlefield
Having the balls to release a feminist hymn during the 80s after being the first woman to ever appear on MTV alone, just makes Pat and this song both iconic. Apart from that, this has one of the best choruses ever, and the bass line drives me insane. A great way to prove that simple music can be excellent and carry a great message.
8. The Killers - When You Were Young
There's absolutely no doubts that this is the best song The Killers ever made. It's like they revived the true essence of Rock N' Roll. The way it's underestimated could be considered a sin. You feel alive listening to it, you feel your heart pounding faster and faster. Who needs drugs when there are songs like this out there?
9. U2 - With Or Without You
One of the best love songs ever! U2 seems to have the formula to success and they know how to make great songs without doing it too complicated. By the way, it feels perfect to listen to it after "When You Were Young".
10. Rihanna - Work
You think I'm joking, right?! I'm definitely not. People criticize the song for not having "real lyrics" and Rihanna for being vulgar and stuff, but here's the deal: she knows how to play with the song, the beat is insane, and it's just music, you can tell she was herself while doing it, that her heart is there, and the fact that she knows how to make a song like that, without people even understanding what she's singing and yet getting it to the first position in the entire world is crazy. There's not the "right way" of making music, and Rihanna got it, kudos to her! Breaking bareers and experimenting is what make an artist grow as a musician, and those are the two things Rihanna did in this song. This is so powerful that I can already tell it's going to be remembered for generations.
