I think she made the song general enough for it to get by. Besides, jackasses like him are willing to set serious personal conflicts aside if it fills his coffers

Wow.
I just watched the Praying MV for the first time and I am beyond impressed. I always thought Kesha had a few good songs and knew how to write a good hook but I wasn't a fan. I always heard stuff about her though that made me suspect she could pull something like this out of the bag and she really delivered. Well done, Kesha. This is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.

I also just watched the music video for "Praying" for the first time. I'm pretty impressed. It's not 100% my style, but I still enjoyed it. And it's so completely different from what I'm used to from Kesha.
I've never been a fan, I just liked her, so all the other songs I know are "The Harold Song" and all these party singles like "Tik Tok", "We Are Who We Are", "Die Young" etc. "Praying" is something entirely different, but in a good way. I never knew Kesha could sing like that.
I'm really glad that she's finally rid of Dr. Luke and can make music again.

It gets a bit screamy in places but it's quite good overall, you can tell she wrote it from a very obviously personal place. Might have to suggest we play this on my radio station.
I'm super glad some big name pop stars are going In this direction recently - Gaga, Miley, now Kesha. If Avril's new album is like this, she's coming out at the right time.

I actually always had this thing, lets say "guilty pleasure" about Kesha. I think that's just that I found her funny. Not that I listened to her on purpose but when I was at clubs with my friends and her songs came up I really liked it- much better than, namely, Gaga's stuff. I was very shocked when I learnt the whole thing about Dr Luke abusing her, and the court verdict was just...I mean, I can't understand it. I totally side with Bogo, a contract is a contract and you're bound to fulfill it, but this was beyond abusive. It was actually more of a crime than breaking it, I mean you link a raped girl with her rapist? That sounds like when in the Middle Ages one of the ways the rapist could scape (many times death) penalty was marrying the victim-that was actually not as horrible as it sounds since it seems that it was the way many lovers managed to marry without their parents permission- I don't know if the USA government has powers to interfere on trials- here we have a legal resort that allows the government to modify a sentence in cases like this- but if they had them I think there was not better occasion to use it. It really outraged me- I mean, in what world do we live in? This being said, I was sure the poor girl was doomed to disappear and her musical career was over, but I'm glad I was wrong. I like this new track of hers, it's true that sounds a little screamy at some parts but it does feel sincere and genuine. I think I'll buy her new album just as a "support" gesture.

I like "Woman", but my first impression was "it was okay." I should have expected this to be her next single as it is similar to her original sound, but I didn't and was surprised when I first listened to it. However, it's amazing that Kesha still showed her strength in the song with a different light. By showing she doesn't need to depend on other people. I think after a few more listens, I'll like the song more.

Whoa, so much "motherfucking" and "motherfucker" in there. Well, it was actually kinda fun. At least it felt as though the song/the vieo was only 2 minutes long when it's actually 3:28. I take that as a positive sign.

I didn't like Woman at first, then I was at the gym lifting and blaring it. I wanted to just go up to people and be like i'm a "mother f**king woman!" and I'm a guy... lol.

I'm working with a lot of people who have suffered from sexual abuse, or suffer with anxiety and depression right now. I also struggle with mental health, and I cried the first few times i listened to Praying. I played the song for others, and they have the same reaction. Something about it is so raw and just cuts right to the core of all that pain and lets it escape and break up. It's incredible. She deserves a Grammy for it.

I've been listening to Praying and Woman a lot recently and I can say that I do really like both songs. Although I don't really think that they are as good as most of the material on Animal, Cannibal or Warrior. Regardless though, I'm just so glad that Kesha is in a better place in her life and is finally able to release music she wants to make!
