Bought a new charger for my tablet computer. Very happy with it and had a nap.

Spent most of the day painting the skirting boards/stair bannister etc. Made a chilli con carne for dinner. drove to bristol with my boyfriend to pick up some car parts (it’s like 45 mins down the road but furthest we’ve gone since lockdown started lmao quite a novelty). Now I’m gonna get into bed and watch tv

Last night I went to a free party around a campfire with people playing instruments and singing folk songs. Kind of cool interesting crowd, very talented musicians. It was called The Moseley Bog full moon party. Today I carried on drinking and sitting in the sun but the beer wasn't going down very well as I was hungover. Good start to my 3 days off work.

I unexpectedly had an extra day off work today. Was really tired this morning but eventually found the energy to go out for a coffee and read the papers and my book. Really lacking in energy for some reason.

Thankfully logged in early today. Someone sent a meeting invite at 1 AM for an early morning meeting. Who does that ? I would have missed it!

I started building and repairing computers in 1985. I started designing, building and repairing networks in 1995. In all this time, I've never networked my computers, at home. This morning, I finally networked all my computers and printers.

It used to be an extremely difficult thing to do.

Upgraded my "test bench" computer. It works great. But, it didn't have any USB 3.0 ports. Now it has four. I also added two eSATAp ports. eSATA ports have been around for over ten years. The problem for me is, they only allow you to connect 2.5 inch drives. The newer eSATAp ports (AKA power over eSATA) have the additional 12 volts required to power 3.5 inch drives and DVD drives. This means I don't have to open the case, to test virtually any drive. The main benefit is, the drives connected, in this manner, operate at the same speed they would, if connected directly to the motherboard. I have an external dual drive enclosure that would allow me to connect 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives. But, they would then only operate at USB speeds.
