Just came back from a rather rough event. So glad I managed to survive it. And now "Dumb Blonde" as a reward! Only 32 minutes left, but I've no idea what I'm supposed to do until the release, I'm way too excited.

I only just noticed that Avril shared a ton of new "Dumb Blonde" lyrics with the single cover mosaic on Instagram. They seem really amazing!

Hey, that person who shared those snippets on instagram - did they say anything about the album version of "Dumb Blonde"? Is it the solo version or the version with Nicki?

I was a little worried about releasing "Dumb Blonde" as a single so close to the album release. After all, the song doesn't seem to represent the sound of HAW album. And I worried that people might just think of Avril as the "motherfucking princess who can't grow up" again. "Yet another bratty song". But DB doesn't seem to be like WTH or HTNGU. DB has meaning, an empowering message (I assume, I haven't listened to the full song yet). And the collab with Nicki really seems to help put Avril's name out there. None of us can see into the future, of course, but I now believe that releasing DB as a single with Nicki as a featured artist was/is a really clever move of BMG's after all. Btw, is it confirmed there will be a music video? I haven't been online the entire day, so I might've missed out on some stuff...

I really like the single cover. It's so different. I'm also over the shock of a Nicki Minaj collab now. I am definitely willing to give this feat. a chance.

I actually prefer Fly over HAW. I can't connect to the god part of it. I'm not very religious either and may have real trouble connecting with lyrics that mention God. But with HAW, I managed to interpret the line "God, keep my head above water" as something like "Damn, somebody or something (myself, fate, music, whatever) keep my head above water". The line with the altar I simply ignore.

I am really saddened to read that the staff is feeling so unhappy atm and that Bandaids might close. Though it's not really surprising. During the last few weeks or so, there have been a couple rough times on Bandaids, imo especially yesterday with all those leaked snippets. Tbh I myself was so immersed in that moment that I didn't even realize that some of us were violating Bandaids' and ProBoards' rules until the thread got closed. Even though it was a little disappointing, I think it was the right decision. Things were getting out of control. It was really stressful. But unfortunately, closing the thread didn't solve the problem entirely. Even after the closing of the HAW thread, I saw quite a couple of rude comments toward the staff. Things like "stupid staff" and users still unable to accept the forum rules, despite several explanations. It might seem like petty stuff, but honestly, if I was a staff member and had to read things like that dozens of times a day on a forum that should actually fill me with joy, I would get really upset, too. It adds up. Taking a step back and simply going offline isn't always that easy. Some people are sensitive, they take such comments personal and might not be able to simply erase them from their minds. Especially when they know they'll have to come back sooner or later to keep moderating this forum so it can keep existing. I also want to add that during such heated times, I see a lot of comments accusing staff of being rude. I obviously don't know what's going on in PMs, but I've never seen a staff member being rude to anyone. Direct, maybe. Strict. But never rude. Deleting posts and giving warnings because you violated the rules is not being rude, it's simply the staff's objective task. If you can't accept the rules, talk to ProBoards or go open a Facebook group or something. The rules are here for a reason. It's not like there are weird rules like "Do not post any YouTube links". It really seems like a couple of users here don't seem to think about what they actually post. They just write something in a frenzy and click on "post". Of course, we're not robots, this kind of stuff sometimes happens. But then going on with this aggressive behaviour over pages and pages, even after a clear and justified warning, that's just unnecessary. I myself have so much to say sometimes, but hardly ever do because I fear I might get a shit storm for it, so instead I just stay quiet most of the time. Bandaids didn't use to be like that. After yesterday, I have decided to try and stay more or less offline for a few days, or at least refrain from reading and replying to certain threads. 'Cause it's just too much right now. It's more stressful than fun. And I'm not even a staff member. I don't get dozens of aggressive PMs per day. I could allow myself to just stay offline for a whole month without worrying if the forum could go on without me or not. The staff can't do that, I assume. The staff are people who spend so much of their free time in keeping this thread going. Without the staff, there would be no Bandaids at all. I would understand if Bandaids really had to close, eventually, but I would be very sad about it. It's the only still existing forum, eveything else is confusing Twitter or Facebook groups or something. I wish I could help, become a staff member, but I already have to deal with mental health issues every single day. Adding the stress of being a staff would probably break me completely. Maybe the forum could take a break soon. Close all threads, disable all users from logging in for an entire month. A few selected members (e.g. the staff, if they were willing to) could be the only ones still able to log in and update the forum with news (like "new single announced for next week" - you know, the stuff that's on Bandaids' homepage). Maybe that would help people to calm down. I've read a few times that some users here were banned for 2 weeks or so, and when they came back they said it really helped them to calm down and be more relaxed about the whole thing. So yeah, maybe we all just need a break. To conclude this long post, I really want to thank all the staff, including retired staff, at this point. I personally really appreciate all the work you put into this forum. All those fun games, always keeping us updated, the great designs - it would all not be possible without you guys.

Isn't it 11:30 am in China right now? The song's gonna be released at 1 pm in China, that's in 25 1/2 hours, so it's early Tuesday morning in Germany. Damn...thought it said 1 am....I guess DB fits me perfectly 😂😂 Haha, don't worry. Happens to all of us sometimes. xD

I hope this Xiami Music Exclusive is reliable and "Dumb Blonde" will indeed be released this Tuesday. That's gonna be a rough day for me, so I could really do with something to cheer me up. You're from Germany, we should get it today ._. Isn't it 11:30 am in China right now? The song's gonna be released at 1 pm in China, that's in 25 1/2 hours, so it's early Tuesday morning in Germany.

I'm most excited for "Birdie", IFILWTD, "Dumb Blonde", and "It Was In Me". Basically the entire first half of the album, lol.
Those last few days are gonna be the longest ever.

Idk, I find it kind of confusing. I've heard multiple times that it's okay to e.g. share 5 seconds of a song on YouTube, but then at the same time those videos often get blocked by YouTube. I think if you want to be on the safe side, you better always ask the owner for permission. they were posted on a music hosting website, that's actually their problem, they are the ones, who should care about legality, not people who share the link all around, because they aren't the ones who uploaded it. Since when sharing a link is illegal lol. I really thought this forum was a nice fandom where fans can find cool things about their idol.
I do not know the laws in other countries. Maybe it's not as strict in the US. But I swear, in Germany you are not allowed to share illegal links, no matter if you're the one who uploaded the stuff there or not, no matter if you found the link in a different forum or not.

Laws are different in each country. In Germany, it's extremely strict when it comes to copyrights. Spreading illegal download links (whether you're the one who uploaded the copyrighted material or not) is definitely not allowed. Heck, YouTube is already difficult enough. A certain legal site where you can read and download old books (1900 and older) whose copyright has expired has been completely shut down in Germany just because of a dozen apparently illegally uploaded books (it's being argued whether they've actually been uploaded illegally or not). But I'm drifting off. My point is that Bandaids' and ProBoard's rules strictly say that you may not post copyrighted material or links to such stuff or ask for any of this. I'm sure they have their reasons. If you can't accept this rule, then maybe Bandaids is not the place for you. True, but I do wonder a bit whether snippets (official or not), technically being mere promo material/fraction of a copyrighted work falls under a different legal umbrella, sort of how reviewers of movies have some kind of a fair use term under which they can take short film segments without breaking copyright rules.. Idk, I find it kind of confusing. I've heard multiple times that it's okay to e.g. share 5 seconds of a song on YouTube, but then at the same time those videos often get blocked by YouTube. I think if you want to be on the safe side, you better always ask the owner for permission.

The album doesn’t get released until the 15th, but UPS tracking shows my CD will arrive in the mail on the 13th. I’ll get it early! Whoa, lucky you!! The last CD I pre-ordered before HAW also arrived one day early, but I wasn't home that entire day.

I really liked that interview, even though there wasn't any news in it. But Avril seemed clearly uncomfortable speaking about Lyme. She first said something about "health problems" and only after a bit of hesitating actually said "Lyme disease". I'm glad that guy didn't ask her to say more about it and that the interview quickly turned into another, happier direction. Avril seemed really content and relaxed then. She's so cute. I also really love her outfit.
