Green Day is an American punk rock band formed in 1986 by vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt. For much of the group's career, the band has been a trio with drummer Tré Cool, who replaced former drummer John Kiffmeyer in 1990 prior to the recording of the band's second studio album, Kerplunk (1992). In 2012, guitarist Jason White became a full-time member after having performed with the band as a session and touring member since 1999.Studio Albums:39/Smooth (1991) Kerplunk (1992) Dookie (1994) Insomniac (1995) Nimrod (1997) Warning (2000) American Idiot (2004) 21st Century Breakdown (2009) ¡Uno!/¡Dos!/¡Tré! My favorite Green Day song is, without a doubt, Jesus of Suburbia from American Idiot.
It's a fucking masterpiece. That's all I can say. A 9 minute long epic separated into 5 seperate movements spanning from anger infused punk rock to softer alternative rock. It's difficult to get into at first due to its length and deviation from the standard verse-chorus format, but eventually you will love every single bit of it. You will look at every other song in disdain as they are not as epic as Jesus of Suburbia (well not really but still JOS is a damn good song).
I personally think Whatsername, Give Me Novacaine, She's A Rebel, and Letterbomb are some very underrated tracks from American Idiot. Not to mention Homecoming, which is another 9 minute long epic. From 21CB, Before the Lobotomy and ¡Viva La Gloria! need more love. The entire Warning album is also very underrated. People turn away from it cause its more folk than usual.
People are usually split between Old Green Day (pre American Idiot) and New Green Day (post American Idiot), like how people are split between old pre-UMS Avril and new post-UMS Avril. Personally, I like songs from both sides.

Even though I'm not extremely familiar with pre-AI stuff, I definitely appreciate it. However, American Idiot is amongst my top-10 favourite albums. 21CB is a good album, more commercial/mainstream than AI. The trilogy of albums they released in 2012 aren't my cup of tea, they felt too similar to each other and I barely listened to them. That definitely made like Green Day less, although I'll always be interested on what kind of music they release.

I used to like them a lot in 2004 when BOBD was released. They were pretty famous here from 2004 till 2010, I guess. I remember Know Your Enemy was constantly on radio and I had the " Well gotta know the enemy, ohaooh!" line in head all the time. And here's a funny story I had thanks/because of them in 2005 when I first used Internet, I realized that Basket Case was a song from them. Prior to that, I would sing this song a lot and I had no idea what I was saying, now knowing the meaning gives a different perspective..

I like their music, at least the songs I know. I've wanted to have a deeper look into all their songs for a long time but haven't done it yet.

I wouldn't describe myself as a fan, but I definitely like most of their music a lot. But I haven't even listened to all their albums yet; I only started listening to them about 2 ½ years ago. American Idiot is definitely my favourite album. It was the first one I bought and there's really not a single song on it that I'd skip. And that's hardly ever the case, not even with Avril tbh. Whatsername, Give Me Novacaine, Letterbomb, and ¡Viva La Gloria! are among my all-time favourites of all artists! I can't believe they're underrated. And Warning might not be my favourite album, but there are still amazing songs on it: Misery, Fashion Victim, and Jackass for example are genius!

Decided to immerse myself with 21CB by listening to some non-singles... Now I have some new favorites from that album! Especially Horseshoes and Handgrenades... it's filled with anger.

Dookie was pretty big in the 90s.
...And that covers everything I could possibly say about Green Day. Carry on.

I really love Green Day! Good Riddance is definitely my favorite, it will always be close to my heart. Basket Case is a classic! Dookie and American Idiot are in my opinion the best albums they have done. I cannot wait for the new one

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams is my absolute favorite. I could listen to that song on repeat all day; I just think it's wonderfully done. Some of my other favorites are BasketCase, Redundant, Good Riddance, Warning, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Know Your Enemy, 21 Guns, and When It's Time.

The 12th album, Revolution Radio, is to be released on the 7th on October. And the first single was just released today! It sound like they are going back to the political lyrics of American Idiot and 21CB... I like it.
