 So when Bandaids was down I got really into an artist by the name Marina and the Diamonds (Marina Diamandis). I'm sure most of you have heard of her. She just recently dropped her successful album 'FROOT' which I'm totally in love with. Marina has become my queen tbh ♥ So yeeee this'll be the discussion thread for Marina and the Diamonds. |

I used to listen to electra heart everyday. Primadonna, Lies, Starring Role and Valley Of The Dolls. I actually haven't heard any songs from Froot yet, when i heard the single I thought it was a joke  The first time i heard Marina was Mowglis Road some years back.. in 2010 and then I really stared listen to her music when i found I Am Not A Robot |

Marina is currently my favorite artist. There is not one song by her that I dislike. She writes amazing lyrics and has a very powerful voice. When I listen to her songs and focus on the lyrics, I wonder "How did she even think about that?"
I love the weirdness of The Family Jewels, the satire and the artistry of Electra Heart, and the warmth of FROOT.
In Electra Heart, Marina claimed to be someone she is not. I loved how she started the alter persona, and how she killed it at the end. Truly genius, poetic, and satirical.
FROOT is killing me at the moment. I just love love love this Queen.

She is one of those singers that I never share or talk about with anyone because I think she is too special to me. Kinda selfish, but I only want me to be amazed by her music. |

Marina is incredible, her lyrics are seriously amazing and the music is really catchy. I've been a huge fan since Mowgli's Road was released and while I loved Electra Heart and Froot, I do think that The Family Jewels was her best album. I just love it's quirkiness.
Also, I love that she wrote all of Froot herself and only used one producer (that's what I heard, anyway). It's very authentic. Happy and Savages are clear standout tracks on the album.

I like her music a lot - but I cant really listen to FROOT on repeat cause it sounds very much the same to me in every song. The lyrics are amazing, but the production is too similar, imo. I think Marina really has a special way of seeing and describing things and situations, she always seems aware of many perspectives which is very new and fresh besides all this pop-music that only talks about itself. My favourite track at the moment is "Cant pin me down", it's so catchy  |
