It’s sad to her fans, of which I assume you are not one. No I am not a Fan. That does change my Comments.

Even if they wanted to be dicks about it they could at least say “Ok you can perform only 5 songs” or something so she can at least still perform some of them. whats with Immature post and why did Taylor sign a contact that allowed them to do it is the question not immature comments about the 2 people.

Dude just because you can legally do something doesn’t mean that you should, apparently 13 years of friendship means nothing to Scott. And you’re just as bad as they are if you would do the same thing. There’s protecting your business and then there’s just being petty. They are trying to prevent her from singing her own music just because this is for an event that is honoring her. They had no issue with it until now. It’s not business. It’s them wanting go exercise power and control over her because they know they are nothing without her.
She signed a contract when she was a minor. There’s no way she should have known what it said or meant. Her parents or a lawyer should have looked at it more carefully, that’s true. But you also cannot blame a MINOR for signing a contract, in fact it shouldn’t even be considered a valid contract if she was underaged anyway. And if that contract was for 6 albums, aka they did not draw up a new contract after she turned 18 and was legally an adult, then that’s even more screwed up.
Not everything has to be about business and money. They are trying to take something away from her just because they can. Let her have her special night and sing HER songs that SHE wrote. The fact you see nothing wrong with that shows you’re just as despicable as they are. And the fact you’d blame a minor and act like it’s her fault.
Not to mention it’s been proven they owe HER millions in unpaid royalties. According to your super important business rules, they should pay her. What’s your excuse for that?

The business of businesses is business. People who follow that principle never care about their environment, don’t know what trust is and don’t care if others suffer from their actions. The only thing they care is that they get that money. Sick and disgusting. It might have been a mistake by Taylor by trusting those people in the past. Sadly you can’t trust anyone anymore.. I hope that from now on she will find better people. For me it‘s not just „It‘s her fault that she signed that“. She is not the only one going through that sh*t and that shows already how incredibly manipulative and sick this industry and the so called „business“ can be. One mistake and they take everything from you and then people come and only say „well.. her fault.“

Exactly, in fact several artists have spoken up and said the same thing happened to them. This isn’t just about Taylor and what’s happening to her. It’s about the whole industry and all artists. Taylor is one of the few who can speak up about it and even then she still suffers repercussions. But if this is happening to one of musics biggest and most powerful stars, imagine what’s happening to smaller artists. She is bringing awareness to something that is very important and hopes that others might be able to prevent the same thing from happening to them.

I hope this turns out good for Taylor and all women in the industrie. If not a lot of them won't be able to perform any song they have ever made.

We all give up something when we sign a contract. Even small every day things like getting a Google account. Yes Taylor did sell her work but she was trying to buy it back. Scott said no and wanted to sell his label. Taylor made peace with it. Until she saw who he sold it to. Scooter who had been trying to get her as a client but was rejected. He then tried to get her by buying her music. Yes it is legal. He won. But now that Taylor wants to rerecord her music so she can own her songs, he goes on and acts like an asshole. Not letting her perform her own songs is a childish way to get back at her. It's legal but that does not mean it's morally right. She's not the only one this has happened to. Making her struggle public benefits a lot of other artists who have not spoken up about their own issues. It shines a spotlight on the dark side of the music industry that fans are not privy to.

I'm not even sure it actually is legal anyway. It seems like a stretch to call a televised performance a "re-recording" as though it's the same as recording it in a studio. And she has performed her older songs for other televised events this era and they didn't say anything.
I guess if nothing else she can perform all Lover songs if she has to, songs she actually owns. In a way, that'd be an even more powerful move. Because they literally cannot do anything to stop her and she would be performing all songs that are hers, that she owns 100%. Don't know what they can do about the Netflix documentary though. Maybe she should just write all new music for it and it can be like an exclusive soundtrack that's unique from her studio albums.

Did y’all see what her publicist (Tree Paine) put out? It proves that S & S were being deceptive when they released their statement after Taylor’s post asking fans for help.

This is so sad for her... That people can be such dickheads!! I hope she will figure something out.. it would be a shame if she can't sing those old songs live anymore and knowing that only her Lover material can be accepted.. I also wonder about the re recording material how that will work out.. will the songs sound the same a bit or not? Not sad at all. I own many Business and I would do the same and what is Legal to do to Protect My Investment to the fullest Extend. Come on. I’m not even a Taylor fan but in my opinion it’s obvious that it’s not just about business and protecting their investment at this point. It’s personal now, not a business move. Yes they are legally allowed to do this but there’s really no good reason that they should.

Where do I find it? All I see are fans that are being very dramatic. Taylor can throw shade but I've never seen her be classless. The only idea I've heard that I really like is what Bo said about her performing The Man. Like last yrs AMA where she did IDSB after speaking about politics. That's still my favorite song and performance to date. Ohhh what if she hires a choir that sings her old hits in between her singing the new songs.

Yikes Taylor got snubbed at the Grammys this year. I believe this is what she got:
Best Pop Solo Performance for YNTCD Song of the Year for Lover Best Pop Vocal Album for Lover
No AOTY nomination, I was kind of shocked tbh. Seems like they just threw her a few pity noms but I feel like given the other artists up for the same awards - Lizzo, Billie, Ariana - I wouldn’t be surprised if she goes home empty-handed ala RED this year. Also surprised none of her videos were nominated either.
