You don't. Just change the one that's outmoded and ambiguously-worded, and leave the rest alone. Make it so you can own a shotgun or hunting rifle if you really must, but not something you can lay down suppressing fire with. Civilians have no business owning such things, I don't care if you live in a rough neighborhood or out in the sticks. I find it interesting that a nation founded a mere 200 years ago is so hung up on tradition and will take this at face value. Becky pointed out that it has in fact been changed since it was first written. I'm not a historian and I don't know the exact details of how these changes came about, but if you did it once then you can do it again. It's like part of the American psychology WANTS these things to be everywhere. This is why people get annoyed and start calling you rude things out of frustration and bewilderment. It just makes no sense to them. Alex, I posted a link to give you some insight but I can't make you read it. Perhaps you should. www.revolutionary-war-and-beyond.com/2nd-amendment.htmlAmerica hasn't gone socialist yet like the rest of Europe so I understand why you don't get it. That's fine. Italy, Hungary etc. are having a good ol' giggle at this. Even the UK, Germany, Holland, France etc. haha. I think most of the mass shootings (in schools) here in Germany were done with guns the guys stole from their own parents (mostly the parents owned the guns because of shooting-sports and didnt place them in a secure storage). In cases were they didnt have this easy access to weapons they used other things (such as knifes or axes) and a lot less people were killed. Of course, if you really want to get a gun, you will find ways to get them. Especially when you are not a child/teenager but an adult with money etc. - but the easy access that you find in the US might support mass shootings. I agree with Marliz at this point. I have never been to the US and I dont need to go there to know that you guys dont need all these guns. Everybody knows enough about the USA to form an opinion about your gun laws. I think it's just a weird education to "brainwash" people that they need guns and that it's their personal right and an expression of freedom, but I can see why it's difficult for some US-americans to understand the problematic about the gun laws when they were growing up with this "gun-progaganda". From my german point of view, it just looks weird. Wasn't Germany's problem her susceptibility to "propaganda" and "brainwashing" from you know who which led to WW2? That is why we took all your guns away. So I can see why it's weird to you. Nah it was how poor a lot of the German people were and wanting a change. Unfortunately they didn't know the extent of that change until they had it. You don't like people saying anything negative America but be snarky against other countries haha. (Yes I know it's sarcasm but still, no need to appear condescending )

I’ve never said or implied that they are. And do you think they're happy with the way things are, or do they speak up for themselves? Rhetorical question, of course they do. Freedom of speech and all that. But yeah, the issue here is 58 innocent people being killed and hundreds more injured. Not arguing with each other about something that probably won't ever change.

Becky......1) There really is no argument that all the EU countries have slid further towards socialism than the US. 2) Wasn't being condescending or snarky. I can't change history and that is what happened no matter what excuses are made. 3) Now what is your favorite meal? I'll gladly cook it for you when you visit!

I like when she said "Call your congressman and senator and demand stricter gun laws!". I think that is in favor of all humans. Quoting myself is a good way to repeat the same things again. XD

I don't really give a shit. I made mini-uzis for the Americans with my own hands for years. Totally impractical gun whose only purpose is to hurt people. If they want to live among weapons like this, go ahead, their funeral. Just thought America would be a nicer holiday destination without the guns. And by the way my grandad fought in the second world war, conscripted from Australia. Squadron leader of the Royal Australian Air force so don't give me any shit about Nazis. Nazis were everybody's problem. Son, they were everyone's problem and my Father helped defeat them for you. Your welcome. I've been thinking a lot about our discussion the other day about gun laws in America. As I have come to understand your argument I can imagine your average American saying something like, "Over my dead body." when asked to hand over his gun to the authorities. He believes nothing should come between him and his right to bear arms. He doesn't trust his government not to try and kill him once he is unarmed. Maybe he is worried about defending himself against terrorist attacks too, defending his home, that sort of thing. He feels vulnerable and less safe without a gun because of these perceived threats. This stance on guns carries a lot of political weight in the USA it would seem. I just think that this is a very negative and pessimistic view of society in the modern world, in the modern western world and I pity Avril Lavigne for having to put up with it. It seems counter intuitive to me to assume you will be more safe if everybody is allowed to carry a gun. I think this article highlights the scale of America's gun problem very well and is worth a read. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/oct/05/us-gun-violence-charts-data

You pity Avril for having to suffer living just outside Beverly Hills California?? You are joking, right? I guess she could live in Toronto or London instead. Poor Avril.....
This from the guy who makes the guns he complains about. I’m impressed with your deep convictions. That was a joke.

You're right, I don't feel strongly that guns are a a significant threat or problem in America. I do feel sorry for Avril though having to play concerts that have been places where so many terrorist attacks and mass shootings have taken place recently. I can understand her being concerned.
That job I used to do freaks me out. I still don't know what I was making, it was just bits of metal to me. I did it for 4 years. Rumour has it we made a lot of stuff for the MOD but I don't know. I know we made a lot of interesting stuff. Locks, engines, airplanes, Apache helicopters apparently, I know we made air ambulance helicopters, bikes, swords, coats of armour, air guns, cat and dog food machinery, wheel clamps, dies for all kinds of presses, especially car body work dies even coins, formula one camshafts, NAZCAR crankshafts, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Land Rover, JCB, I don't know. All kinds of stuff. It was a really interesting job and you felt like you were achieving a lot. The most absurd rumour I heard which I think maybe isn't true is that we made parts for the Trident nuclear submarines of this country. Honestly, we could have been making absolutely anything.

Sounds like you worked for a war monger’s dream company. Congrats.
And you’ve forgotten Manchester already?

To be fair we're doing about as much to deal with our terrorist problem as America are doing to deal with their gun one
